Add another $3K for labor...
I did mine after work last Wednesday, it was a bit much for one person to do in 6 hours but I did it.I am lucky enough to know several mechanics with access to lifts that would help me knock this out. If it comes to it, I would handle the R&R on my own.
HOLY COW!!In my case, not probably...actually...my total for a new trans and labor was just under $6K...
I guess that depends on how many hours one thinks they took versus the time it took for your DIY...From what I've heard, $6K out the door is the average out the door...HOLY COW!!
What's the shop's hourly rate - 325?/Hour?
Did you have to do any electronic gymnastics to get it to work?I did mine after work last Wednesday, it was a bit much for one person to do in 6 hours but I did it.
Had to program the valve body ID code and reset the transmission adaptives.Did you have to do any electronic gymnastics to get it to work?
Or just bolt it in and go?
I was guessing that with the new trucks that only the dealer would be able to log into the truck and tell it to play nice with a different transmission.
I'm in Southern California so you know... it's just more expensive here. I was able to find a mechanic to do the whole thing with a brand-new transmission for 7500. Dealer wanted close to 10k.I guess that depends on how many hours one thinks they took versus the time it took for your DIY...From what I've heard, $6K out the door is the average out the door...
