So when it shifts in 3 gear with into the gas fairly heavy[not to the floor]is hesitatesa few times and seems like it’s holding back then its fine. Not sure if it’s the trans or not as I have read thew a few posts. Any thought about this. I took it to the dealer and like usual they cant replicate the problem:rolleyes: .

It's the torque converter lock up. Mines slow as garbage too but dealer keeps telling me it's normal. I'm sure it's normal while it's under warranty that is...

Let me guess, the RPMs flutter up and down as you can hear the engine do the same?

Heard tunes can help it, but I don't fiddle with those so I can't help past that.

For me, it was about adjusting my acceleration style a bit. I’m used to transmissions with far fewer gears to go through. When I think of an old 3-speed transmission, that first, lowest gear is replaced by three or four gears on our 10R80. If I hesitated or let off my gas pedal in city traffic, I would get a few weird shifts now and then.

What I’ve learned is that I need to be consistent and deliberate with the gas, whether I’m really putting my foot in it or accelerating slowly. With so many gears to choose from or skip, this transmission can’t be getting any mixed signals from the driver. It’s a bit like riding a horse and expecting it to know what you want it to do. You can’t jab your heels into its ribs while pulling back on the reins at the same time.

Anyway, that’s my 2-cents.

I notice it just about every time I pull out in traffic where you need to get it going so the guy you pulled out in front of don’t flip you the bird.

For those times, try using tow/haul or Sport mode. Living in the Houston area, you need to pull out in front of people often. Regular drive seems to be more on the lethargic side than the other two modes plus it automatically turns off s/s system which, if you have it on may also be a part of your problem as mine likes to remind me to turn it off at stop signs.

I've learned it's best to start off from a stop, rev up in first, it skips 2nd in drive, after it shifts to third is when I take off
