You have to take into account your Ranger is now 7 years old, a base model, no warranty, and since 2025-26 years, is now considered "the old version". Also, they do have a right to make a profit from your vehicle after they buy it.
When I sold my 2021 to Carvana, we watched it on their web site, and eventually it sold for only $1200 more than they gave me for it....
Once a new model comes out the prices for the "old models" drops very rapidly....
This makes me think of that old Steve Miller band song, Take the Money and Run! Lol

So $58-59,000 for a new ranger!? 😲

That's F150 territory

I'm in the market; local dealer has a plain jane xlt for $41,000.
Wish I could get an answer if I could 4 scan 2025-2026 models and add the terrain management. I asked over at the 6g forum, and I got from cryptic like the one guy was holding government secrets to "I don't know"

This particular ranger has the locking rear end and the trailer brake, my 2 requirements

You can't compare a Ranger Raptor to a base to mid level F150.

I agree I'd want the 2.7 also especially since is had both DI/PI injection.

I'm surprised the Raptor was marked down at all right now. I thought it would take a few years or a recession before discounting them.
IIRC Ford added PI in the 2025 MY for the 2.3L. I’d go for the 2.7L myself just because I’d like the V6 power and sound, but if Ford went the Bronco route and added a manual transmission option to the 2.3L I’d be on it immediately.

You're right they did change the 2025 2.3L and added pi. I never really kept up much on the specs after the 2024 came out.

I’ve gotten six offers from the dealership to buy mine. NOPE.!!!!
I get those emails from my dealer a few times a year;

boom.
I went on the Build & Price for a '26 and it came out almost $10K more than the MSRP for my 2021. a lot of the increase was from having to build a Super Crew rather than a S-Cab, but I had to jump up to an XLT to get all of the options my STX has, and I don't want the 12in center display anyway. Like many dealers, my go-to sends me a request to answer a survey, either on Dealerrater.com or Google. Why are they so co-dependant about a flippin' oil change?

Dealers need software that qualifies their e-mails & direct mailers. We bought a 2025 Mazda CX-90 last August, and 13 weeks later they were on us with the "Now is the time to trade in..." -hadn't had its first oil change at the time! Finally unsubscribed from the dealer's list and took it to a different dealer for its first oil/tire rotation. You guessed it! "Christoph (no er?) "Now is the time to trade in..."

Maybe the thing to do is fight back. Yeah, that's the ticket!
...Hey (dlr name), I'd like you to fill out this short two minute survey concerning your experience dealing with me and my recent service visit!"
OR,
...Hi (dlr name)! Now is the time to send me junk mail about trading in my months-old vehicle!!

I've tossed this around, but assuming more debt seems silly when my 22 Splash only has 14k on it and runs the Ford Performance tuner, being one of 500 splash in my color gives me a pause on this too, being I've got a company F150 with the 2.7 right now keeps me from lusting after it too much. Call me when they put the coyote 5.0 in the Ranger.

Update. When I first started looking into this truck, I signed up for pricewatch notifications. A couple of weeks ago, they sent me an update saying it had sold. Guess what, it didn't! It still available, still $8100 below MSPR. And I still haven't gone to look at it.
There is currently no tunes available for the '25's, so that's a big turn off. Also, only one option for a dual rear exit exhaust, which doesn't look appealing. So maybe I'll just stop thinking about it. (yeah right)

Not a fan of white, but is this truck ugly? You know, wild Raptor decals and all?

I don't have a problem with the truck being white (Grandpas favorite color of vehicle), the graphics are a little too much.
