Chris @Chris M Dejavu we were just talking about your friend hauling these windmill blades the other day. These was 5 different trucks that we saw hauling these and these thing are huge. Personally I think these farm are ugly and ruin the landscape but that’s another argument. lol

And they have to be cut up and buried when they wear out.

They’re not recyclable? So much for being “ green “.

Kinda sorta - most of it can be repurposed or recycled but the blades are a huge challenge - they go through a couple sets in their lifespan and many end up in landfills. There are new processes to crush them down and use them in construction materials like concrete but that process needs to be more widely deployed. As the blade technology advances their recyclability needs to be part of the design.

At the moment, there’s a crap-ton of first and second gen stuff out there with rolling expiry dates and not a lot of cost-effective options.
