I can never leave anything alone. This is what was in my 2020 Ranger. It had a light spring that allowed the flapper to open. Probably not a bad system.

Where was it located? Near the motor, ahead of the converter?I can never leave anything alone. This is what was in my 2020 Ranger. It had a light spring that allowed the flapper to open. Probably not a bad system.
I just took some measurements of the OEM muffler. Can you post the measurements of the OEM muffler? Inlet/outlet diameter & total length end to end? Thanks!
Great job...thanks!I just took some measurements of the OEM muffler.
These are for the body of the muffler. I didn't measure the hangers or the pipe on either end since mine was cut off before the flanges.
The body is 23 inches long
12.5 inches wide
8 inches tall
Inlet and outlet are 2.5 inches diameter
where was that at? I have looked all up and down my exhaust and not seen anything like that.I can never leave anything alone. This is what was in my 2020 Ranger. It had a light spring that allowed the flapper to open. Probably not a bad system.
Can you measure the inlet and outlet offsets please?I just took some measurements of the OEM muffler.

To hold me over until I do a proper exhaust, I poked mine out with a long piece of pipe. If I listen really closely, I think I hear an ever-so-slightly deeper tone, but it could be my imagination. I guess it's worth a try if you have 20 minutes and a 15mm deep socket.Okay, I just got a picture of the inside of the pipe where the 1 inch opening is. The perforations run for more like 2 inches of the pipe, not the 4 to 6 inches like I thought I saw yesterday.
