This. If I have my climate control set to "Auto" with AC off, even in the 10* Chicago winter, it's using the AC pump occasionally to maintain even cabin temp, defrost/defog windows, etc.
I think it's just a poorly designed blend system. Although, my wife's VW Bug with auto-climate acts the same way. Personally, I'd prefer a manual system but you can't have that with the 8" screen.
Mine has always acted like this. The faster the fan speed, the less that comes out of the forward vents. "Auto" works best for me but it uses the AC compressor and my mileage drops.
I have this Gibson muffler welded into my otherwise stock exhaust and have the same sound you're describing. I just assumed it's the turbo spinning at max rpm with the throttle wide open, just moving a lot of air.
I have a lighting-related thought/question...
I have my front amber parking lights set as my DRLs. Is there a code to enable the rear amber turn signals to light up as well, like a sort-of rear DRL? Just thinking outside the box.
If you call and threaten to cancel, they offer $60 for the whole year. I have this on my wife's Beetle and it includes the streaming app which I stream via bluetooth (or android auto if plugged in.) The sound quality is also MUCH better through the app vs the Ranger's tuner.
I only have the parking lights as DRLs. But if my low beams are on and I forget to turn off auto-stop/start, they flicker when the engine restarts. I always feel like the guy in front of me at the light is gonna think I'm flashing him to go.
I've been running the lows, fogs and switchback marker/signals for about 6 months. No complaints, definitely a big improvement.
- I had to significantly lower the aim on the low beams to match the cutoff from the halogens.
- The heat sink fans are quite loud. At first, I didn't realize what the...
It definitely helped. Basically made it "feel" like it made up for the turbo lag. Also locking out 9&10th gear helps too.
Yes, marked sold a week or 2 ago. Thanks.
I work for the natural gas utility in the Chicago suburbs. We're starting to get a bunch of Rangers in all of our departments. I'm sure I'll get one in a few years when my F-150 ages out. Most of them seem to be Supercab 4x2 100A with Sync, power equipment group, running boards, mudflaps...
Selling my iDrive unit since I finally pulled the trigger on a Livernois tune and don't need both. Asking $125 shipped in original packaging. Works perfectly as advertised and literally installs in seconds. I haven't even peeled the 3M sticky pad off the back.
Product info...
This is the one I (and many others on here) used. Between it and the Kicker's harness, there's enough slack to have it mounted in the empty space above the glove compartment without adding more wire.
