Tesla X backed into Truckie today

My wife and daughter were parked at the Sports plex waiting for me to arrive this afternoon.

This lady backs out, clueless and slams right into my Ranger! Didn't even slow down after she hit.

Them electric cars sure have some smashing power!

I have an appointment with a body shop tomorrow at 8 (insurance company recommended).

What do you guys think this will run?

I would advise taking it to a body shop of your choice first. The insurance company recommended shops from the at fault driver always low ball the estimate.

My insurance company recommended the shop. It'll be charged to her insurance.

Any claims we have made over the years have been repaired to new no fuss. I think our Quebec system works well in that regard.

After seeing the damage that resulted in AzScorpion’s Sabre Ranger being written off, I think anything is possible here. I wouldn’t be surprised if it tops $10,000 but here’s my guess…

Just me being me... but it pisses me off even more that it was a freaking Tesla. I'd be livid that anyone hit my truck. But if that someone is driving a low quality ride with a Duracell strapped to the back and a freak named Elon thinks it's a wonderful vehicle..... my anger just went from 0 to meltdown mode in a millionth of a second.

I got backed into in a Home Depot parking lot about a year ago. New door, repaired rocker panel, painted whole front drivers side (1/4 panel back to rear door). Final bill was about $3500. Insurance took care of everything including getting my deductible back from the other insurance company. I can't even tell it is a new door besides the fact that there is no American flag on this side of the truck anymore.

Thank you! I was pretty grumpy last night.

I've priced out new parts and I'm thinking $10,000 also. Who knows, I'll report back after seeing the body shop this morning.

Pissed me off too.

Those vehicles have a serving tray sized screen in the cockpit and I assume radars and gizmos everywhere. Weren't warning bells and sirens going off in the cabin or were they silenced by her Tesla Privilege???

I'm at the body shop.

They're cleaning her up for her exam. Already the guys are saying that my insurance will cover all new parts.

For the taillight and bumper (see my last thread) they have access to scrapyards throughout North America so they'll quote me for those.

I showed them the picture of the Tesla.

For Teslas you have to go to a specialized body shop. There's a good chance that behind her perfect bumper things got squished.

Parts are available only by online ordering and can take months for delivery.

The two guys here are also shocked that her electronics didn't warn her not to smash into us!
