I had updated to 3088 a few days ago, and just downloaded 3188 today... haven't installed it yet. It's suppose to only take about 10 min to update since it's a small download.
3188 uploaded to the truck so fast I thought it had failed. But when I checked the Ford site it showed the Sync version as 3188.

I really haven't
How is version 3188 working so far?
I haven't noticed anything different. Everything works as before. I think I read somewhere that it was a security enhancement but I'm old, so take that with a grain of salt.

This update also seemingly broke connectivity between the phone app and the truck itself. That really sucks. I use the remote start all of the time as well as the lock/unlock. Now, it's no longer working. This is the kind of crap that keeps people from updating software in other areas. Especially "security" updates, which address legit issues, but outwardly break functionality for end users. Security updates are needed all around, but shouldn't come at a cost to regular functionality (end of rant). "Security isn't doing their job if you can do yours." Certainly not considering Ford when my lease is up with this Ranger.

I updated to 3188 yesterday and just checked the app and it works for me... I didn't start the truck cause it's in the garage, but everything else works.

When I opened the app it showed there was an update for it, which I installed.

How did you do the update? From the dealer?

Does 3188 remember your preferences?

Lately, mine has been forgetting my preferences with boring regularity.

I'd like to have the display remain in Night mode but that is too much to ask apparently.

I used to think Sync was OK but lately I'm beginning to perceive it as a steaming turd.

The interface on the Colorado I looked at was slick, a big improvement over Sync.

No, I used cyanlabs. I updated to 3088 about a week ago, and then to 3188 yesterday. Both installed fine for me.
I too updated to 23188 yesterday. (great minds think alike I guess) The update seems to be fine with no problems noted.

Does anybody know when (if) Ford provides the update to remedy Sync 22251, will it overwrite the Cyan install?

Why wouldn't it? All the cyanlabs software does is create the same type of flash drive that the ford download is.

Just curious. I'm REALLY not happy with the current bugs in the software, no memory (reverting to AM, defaulting to auto display settings, lack of connectivity with Ford App, etc and so on...)
I'm not a patient dude and am having a hard time stomaching waiting for another month or longer for Ford to release the fix. And was thinking of doing the Cyanlabs install to get me by until Ford has their release. Heck, now that I think about it, Cyanlabs may provide a better product I may want to stay with anyway ?‍♂

It is not a Cyanlabs product. It is the latest release from Ford. Ford just takes forever to release it on their system. All Cyanlabs does is get the files from Ford and automate the USB creation, making it simpler and getting the latest version out there quicker. I long ago gave up on Fords system. I'm usually on the next version 6 months before it shows up on their site. Fords OTA upgrade worked once for me and was downloading forever.

I've been on version 23088 for several months with no issues. I have heard Cyanlabs may have a newer version out there.

I've never had the issues some have been complaining about. I have mine set to night mode all the time and use a Lincoln color option along with the Raptor flash screen. Always boots to my Flash drive unless my wife sets it to FM. Don't use XM, even have it removed from my sources list.

Part of me thinks Ford allows Cyanlabs to find it, or leaks it to them, so they can get some real world testing.
