Wondering if anyone is experiencing this issue. For the past couple of weeks, when I start my truck, I've been having sync issues. First and foremost my satellite radio is not returning to the last channel I was listening to when the truck was turned off. It either goes to station 0 or just says my radio ID # most of the time. Other times it reverts to an FM station. I never listen to AM or FM radio, so I then need to change the source. Thirdly, the display setting reverts back to Auto sometimes. I always keep it on Night mode as I prefer that setting.
For what it’s worth, I have had similar issues in my 2019 Ranger and I am not running the latest version. I am still on Version 3.4 Build 21294 (no nav). It’s extremely sporadic and occurs maybe once every couple of months. It’s like it does a master reset on its own.

1. On power on, SiriusXM radio acts as if I don’t have a subscription. My presets stations are still there, but they all have an advertisement to subscribe (like what you hear on channel 1). After a few minutes, my SiriusXM channels start to broadcast the relevant channel content.

2. The clock resets to the default time zone (I think central).

3. The background reverts to the default blue color and daytime mode.

4. The touchscreen beep reverts to on.

5. When connecting my phone, I have to setup CarPlay again.

6. I have to setup the 911 call assist again.

I had this happen and it took
New glitch added to my previous ones - On Saturday I used Navigation and got to my destination, pressed “close” as usual.

Made the trip home with no nav as I knew where to go from there. About a 20 minute highway drive. No new issues.

Sunday morning, gotta make a run to the grocery store and when I started it up, Sync started up resuming the nav directions to the place I went to on Saturday.

It’s there everyday since. Now I also have to cancel that as part of the startup checklist.
disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to finally clear it out.

Since we did the update on both the Ranger and wife's Lincoln we both have sporadic issues of the veh not recognizing the fobs. One day I can open all doors with the sensor and others only the driver door gets recognized (both veh) and all 4 fobs have brand new batteries, I replaced them about 2 months ago.

The Lincoln even said fob battery low once in a while after I replaced it with Energizers. Also the visor garage door remote distances reduced drastically in both veh. No matter if the veh was running or not. They run off the 12v car battery so that's weird. I did the sync reset a couple of times and it helped with fobs and garage opener but came back a few weeks later in each vehicle.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I haven't had your issue, but I use a USB drive for my music and it takes a while to index when I start the truck. So if I turn on audio too soon I get FM radio. Maybe your audio source is not immediately ready as well. When this happens I use the voice input and say play USB.
That is a very appropriate avatar, we are approaching a solar max for sun spot activity, and it is higher than normal (remember the super northern lights?) and they expect it to affect a lot of electronic and communications gear for the next year. I have had my remote weather station go bonkers as well as the remote control turning on our fountain at odd times.

The issue with only the driver door sensor working is a classic symptom of a low car (12v) battery. I had this happen to me and after charging the 12v battery the problem went away. Mine sits a lot so now I just throw it on the charger once a month or so.

Understandable but I drive mine daily and more than just a run down to the corner. Doesn't explain why it's also occurring on my wife's car and both by happenstance are immediately after that big update, but I appreciate your input.

looking forward to this bug being fixed, annoyed with being blasted with AM radio static first thing in the morning
I had the same nonsense, changed the radio to a local station that at least comes in and it does remember the last radio station. In my case anyway, who knows how possessed everyone else's is...

Just got off the phone with my Ford Dealer. High ups at Ford are saying it's the Atim or something like that which is the interface. Made the appointment but I expect no change. After 40 years of working with computers I can tell you it's software related. Problem is Ford has the vehicle and someone else handles the software for Sync-3. Sync-3 is probably saying there is nothing wrong. But, a chip in a component contains a program so it could also be one of the components that has an improperly programmed chip.

Could take a long time before whoever does the software fesses up. At that point the people that run the company should be hung from a tree. That's how you stop nonsense like this.

Just wanted to chime in that I am having the same sync problems with the display color changing to auto (I like night) and the AM radio blasting static in the mornings, I'm always listening to Hair Nation when I shut off the truck. Hope they figure it out soon.

Not sure if we needed another sync sucks thread so I'll ask here.. as it is an issue

Anyone have the system do a master reset on its own? Working fine but everything was reset back to default, phones gone, 911 setting , silly kids in back? screen returned, etc.. all of it ... except: My XM presets. It was on channel zero when i fired it up.. or the preview one.. but the presets stayed.

It's been so freaking random since day one. My favorite error was the reverse camera staying on for one trip. Never did that again with a key cycle.

Nope but I've had the camera stick on once or twice.

Hey Joe...another tech guy here. I had most of the same issues until I went over Cyanlabs and downloaded a few versions of the Sync3 APIM software. Dealer was useless wanting throw a 3rd APIM into it...and as it's now out of warranty....$1000 for the part. Like you, I recognized it is a software issue. I fired up the laptop and loaded the MOST RECENT build into my APIM and my gremlins are all gone. Please note that if you're on 3.4 version already, the Ford update site will NOT allow you to update to a newer build for some ungodly reason. They think that you're just fine. My build is working like a champ.

As far as I know, the only other way to update a 3.4 build to a newer build is using FDRS. I have FDRS but haven't used that function.....yet. I'm guessing the log file issue has been corrected as I'm not experiencing memory issues at this point.

Hopefully, mine stays working well.
