Doesn't the 6G Ranger have a damped tailgate from the factory?

How will a thread like this ever be possible on that forum?

Too many trucks are coming with them as standard now. It's becoming too commonplace.

To make mine stand out, I'm going to attach a slide whistle to the damper so that every time I open my tailgate, everyone in the vicinity will hear it and swivel their necks to see the awesome in progress.
There will be a thread for everyone that has removed the damper under 'necessary mods'.

I see no need for a tailgate dampener even with being disabled -arthritis and fibromyalgia.. It's not like the aluminum Ranger tailgate is heavy like the old full size tailgates.

Well, since you have used logic I will add some more. If the weak person cannot let the very light tailgate down by themselves then how can they shut the very light tailgate? ? LOL

I answered "No" in the poll, but I actually bought one intending to someday install. But decided I don't need the damper after all, so it sits stored away still in packaging.

Or, depending on the quality of the stock damper, there may be an opportunity for an upgrade mod. Or dual dampers....

You can't I added a special locking T50 bit to all new dampers. ? Carry your revoked mansard proudly as it's about the only thing you'll be able to pick up once the atrophy set in. o_O

Boy you are late to the show. The government has recently revoked all man cards and replaced them with IT cards. That way it doesn't matter if you have a damper or go damperless ?.

I have a tailgate damper ... but the other day moving a gun safe that just fit in the bed, there was some pressure closing the tailgate. This caused the end of tailgate damper to pop off unbeknownst to me.

When I opened the tailgate ... BOOOM. it dropped at mach 5. Never again, get a damper and check it often.

Good thing there wasn't a little kid under the tailgate. It's a huge reason to get a damper...Save the children! ??

Think of all the things you can do while the damper gently lowers your tailgate......have a beer, check your email, snap a photo of the sunset, take a piss, chat with your neighbor, update Sync, hug your wife, walk your dog...... the list goes on and on. Multitasking.....it's how damper owners like me git 'er done. :sunglasses:

In my damperless world the truck is loaded and I am on the way before your tailgate touches down :muscle:.

Due to someone in the family, who drives the truck, arthritis, I'll
be looking into this specialty device soon.
