Congrats!

Glad that part is behind you. I was amazed at how long it took me at the stealership. After all, I had filled out and signed every bit of paperwork I could before we got there and it still took an hour. And most of that time was spent waiting for the finance guy "to get everything lined up". Dude, I literally told you when I was going to be there so we didn't have to go through this BS.

Shrug.

I can't wait until we can buy direct from the manufacturer and pick the vehicle up at the factory.

Question - does your hood have the rubber/foam padding around it? Mine does, someone in another thread that had been deleted from previous years...

I only see the foam padding under the hood

What about on the underside of the hood?

I'll run out and take a picture in a bit.

Congratulations on the new Ranger. Hope your experience goes well. I ordered my Super Cab RWD XLT on 20 October and still have not received a build date. Dealer estimated 6 months or more. I fear my issue might be that because I ordered a truck with two uncommon configurations, RWD and Super Cab, I may have a long wait. In my situation a Crew Cab serves no function and I have been driving for close to 50 years and never missed FWD. From what I understand there will be no more Super Cabs in 2024, so the wait is justified for me.
I ordered an XLT Supercab RWD like you did and mine took 3 months and 1 week to arrive
at dealer. Salesman at the time I ordered gave me a range of 3-6 months. If anything
I thought the RWD supercab being a simpler build may take less time then the average.
Salesman at ordering advised me to add keyfob remote start option to move things along faster.
Hang in there.

I found them via online search right after I submitted the thread above, sure enough identical plan the dealer is offering me "at a loss" for $1504 is $740 with up to $50 off for paying by echeck and no rush to decide you have like a year to make your mind up. I'm still leaning against it even at half the price since most of those plans are heavily leveraging the bumper to bumper and powertrain warranty.
You have up until the 3/36 is over to add the extended warranty. I just added it to mine last May and mine was going to expire in July. The sooner you do it it is a little cheaper though.

I MIGHT consider an ESP if I were buying the first MY of a vehicle (which I have never done).
One thing to consider is all the computers onboard now. Tracy @Tracy Bowman had both her PCM & BCM fail just out of warranty, well one was still covered. It cost her just over $2K for that one incident so it is a good idea to get one if you're planning on keeping it a while. I've never bought on in my life and usually trade mine in every 3 years but with the way things are now I decided to keep it a little longer.

Yes. Wish I had bought one from the beginning. We had never bought an extended warranty on a vehicle before, but with all these electronics, I found out the hard way that it’s a good idea.
No problems at all since, thankfully. :)

My luck has been every time I've purchased one I didn't need it. But when I didn't purchase one, it could have come in handy... At this point I'm deciding to "self insure" and take my chances.

I added the "First Mile Platinum Coverage" for $4886.00 which extends the bumper to bumper coverage to 96 months / 100,000 miles. My luck with vehicles other than my bike caused me to make this purchase. My bet is in this time frame something will for sure go kaput!

Finally done, 2 hrs and 45 mins at the "stealership" yesterday afternoon and the 5.5 month process is over. Thanks to everyone on the forum, I learned some great info here. A few comments and 1 question below
  • Sure enough, dealer went right to sticker price ($1,000 higher than the order invoice I signed 5.5 months ago) I pushed back and handed him a copy of the order invoice and they claimed "We always sell orders at sticker price". I mentioned price protection and offered I can prove it and am 100% positive so he disappeared to talk to mgr for 5 mins and came back and said "ok".
  • In addition to the $500 pre order bonus offered in August I was able to score the $750 "recent college grad" discount on top of that. My youngest daughter graduated from college 18 months ago so I had her submit the info and she was able to generate the certificate/discount in my name. I figured this was a longshot but elated it worked.
  • During the brass knuckle session by the paperwork/warranty guy he pitched the Ford extended warranty for like $5400, I was a hard pass but he came back with some tear jerking story how they "sell warrantys at a loss to keep up their volume" and offered it for $1504 for 7yr 60k miles. I countered with it has 3 yr/36k bumper to bumper and 5 yr/60k powertrain warranty already. My general inclination is still pass at $1504 but has anyone had favorable experience with the Ford warranty?

You did GREAT!!! I would actually TAKE the extended for the extra 1500 my wife's car is in for a Coolant intrusion at 74,000. Granted there is a TSB regarding the engine. But as Ford is going through a quality problem at some plants. I would opt for the extra care for that price

I hope you ALL know you can go directly to the Ford Website for Extended warranties
Will that get you the same pricing offered by Grainger, Flood, etc?

Ford extended warranties check out their website. I don’t know if it covers flood damage I believe your regular insurance company would cover something like that unless you’re in Canada

I don’t know what you’re talking about Grainger or flood insurance or coverage but that sounds like a bunch of crap. Flood insurance or coverage would be covered under your automobile’s insurance not through Granger. We are talking about Ford extended warranties for the vehicles not homes or boats.

Not flood as in water  .....Flood as in Flood Ford....they are a dealership that, just like Granger Ford, offers extremely competitive pricing on Ford ESP's.
