Not a bad move to cash in that appreciation. And you can't beat the access to nature and all things outdoors in Denver.Outskirts of Denver... Really, we're looking for a good school district for our daughter and we'll figure it out from there...
Our house down here is worth 2x what we paid for it, and that's still ~2/3rds what a house out there will cost us... And if we try for one of the well rated school districts, we're in the 750k+ range (out of our price range)
Where are you out there? (edit:I see Denver, any particular area of Denver?)
Which Jackson, Mississippi?
I live in Denver County, a neighborhood called Barnum. It's a pretty central location. However, if school districts are a big factor, I would highly recommend you look in the Jefferson County (JeffCo) area. Denver Public Schools (DPS), is not as highly regarded as JeffCo schools. I don't have kids, but my girlfriend is an educator at a JeffCo school and the admin and teachers there seem to be solid. She was previously at Aurora Public Schools, and wow, that was a nightmare for her. Jefferson County is a pretty expansive county. I'd suggest looking at the Wheat Ridge neighborhood if good schools and location are important. Plus lots of things to do in that area as well in terms of parks, food, and drink. Good luck!
Also, Jackson, WY. Got a ski trip at Jackson Hole.
