Completed DIY rear seat delete this weekend on my Super Crew.

Planned ahead by looking at as many (and there are very few) posts to get ideas. I then worked my way through it by some trial and error and pretty much making it up as I went along. It's no Goose Gear but they don't have one for the Ranger yet and when they do, it will likely be upwards of $1300 or so based on their pricing for similar vehicles... Here is what I used to keep it way under budget (Came in Just under $200 plus a couple days of time all in).

  • Frame is made from select fir 1x3 boards and well supported with 2x4 and other blocking
  • Deck, Back and sides are Baltic Birch.
  • All support and side pieces painted black.
  • Compression latches from Amazon for the access panels
  • Carpet and Trim from Home Depo
  • Ran a line from the engine compartment to a secondary fuse box for the Fridge and Compressor
  • Foam padding from the fabric store to sound insulate (worked great)
  • Seatbelt management under deck secured with heavy duty velcro
  • Fridge is an ARB Zero 63quart so a slide is not an option
At the end of the day, I am pleased with it and now thankful that nobody sells a pre-made system because I probably would have spent a whole ton of money and still had to install it.

I book marked this. I like the Scab but it looks like they will not offer the 6G in a Tremor, Raptor, EV or PHEV in it. Have no need for the extra seats. We will have to see what Ford offers.

These pictures are before I did additional support shoring up on the base frame and of a test fit only but it gives the basic view of it. I got in to it and forgot to take additional pictures.

Used all the existing mounting points for seats and seatbelts so no additional drilling was necessary.

The seats just unbolted and were removed ?. I see you tied back the seat belts. Was there any Ford wiring you had to deal with.

Thank you. I'm still mid-design/build because I haven't figured out how to get everything I want all in one. I want a fold up dog ramp on one side, more floor access, and rear wall storage access as well. So many moving parts to fit together.

Am I seeing that you left the side seat belts as they were, but took the top mount off for the center belt? Do you get rear seat belt warning every time you start the truck? I have all 3 tops disconnected, but get warnings every time.

Looks great.

Yes, rear seat comes out very easy. Either 4 or 6 bolts IIRC, easily reached from the doorway. It even fits out the rear door fairly easily, I pulled mine out alone in one piece.

I removed the Driver and Passenger side seat belt mounting bolts from the sides, and pulled the center one all the way through then secured them all after plugging the electrical connectors (2) back in. Worked out a solution with heavy duty velcro to make sure they sit snug and don't move around. Did that and no warnings since they're plugged in. Have driven it about 50 miles since and still no warnings.

Just make sure you plug the seatbelts back in to the factory wiring connectors and should not get any warnings (I did not)

Originally I removed all 3 rear belts, but got warnings. I re-installed all 3 belts, plugged them in, but didn't string them to the top. I still get the warnings, and assume it's because they are not under tension, or are partially retracted. I am going to string the sides back to the top and leave the center down, hopefully it fixes me. Thanks again.

Brilliant! After getting back from my trip, I kept scratching my head on how I can acquire more space. Especially since I took this trip without my fridge that didn’t arrive in time. This is exactly what I need into do for more space.

I have the exact fridge. Are you able to slide the driver seat all the way back with the fridge in?
