Exactly. Don’t worry though, I’m sure you’ll find more money for the mods. ?
Interesting Colorado is more expensive to insure than Florida. I would have thought otherwise.

No joke, it was cheaper to insure my Cadillac CTS-V at 22 years old in Florida, than it is to insure my Ranger in Colorado. The prices are close but Florida just barely wins.

Bringing this thread back up from the dead ;) I had the same thing happen, and mostly the same damage. Given its on the roof, I am going to try and fix it myself to the best of my ability. Some black permatex, maybe a few taps with a body work mallet from the bottom, and send it :) IT is kind of wild how much damage this antenna can cause being pulled off... other ford antennas kinda just break away (the plastic part) from a hard mounted base if this happens.

ouch, good luck. Yeah the antenna is surprisingly stout. To your point, probably too much.

Could a paintless dent repair guy fix it? I've had him work on my truck twice.
First time was the hood after I hit a turkey when the truck still smelled new, second time was a door that I suspect was hit by an errant shopping cart.

I got a stubby too. It made it so I didn't have to cut a small clearance hole in my rack flooring.
I have a stubby antenna also. The stocker was getting beat up on my garage door.

So this is what I started with:

I went to Harbor Freight got some body work tools, some 2-1 primer touch up paint, and some permatex black RTV. And went to work :)

Only took me about 15 min to get the C pillars pulled back and then drop the rear of the head liner enough so that I could access the antenna from the bed window.

with a hand anvil under I was able to hammer it down pretty well and some pressure with the edge of the hammer was able to roll up the front dent a good bit.

And then using the black (Figure its under the antenna, and it would be impossible to match the orange anyway, a high end black primer/paint would be best) I am doing a couple coats tonight and will get the antenna installed tomorrow with a bead of permatex around the compression seal, and near the front to keep any potential leaks around the forward dent.

Total cost for the repair if this all works :
$49 tools
$10 Paint
$10 Permatex
$60 Ebay replacement Antenna

About 2 hours of work start to finish it looks like.

:)

You got very lucky with the way yours came out of the roof. My roof had a tear in the metal, and I have neither a welder nor any welding knowledge. Very happy to see you recovered with a much smaller spend and time suck than I did.

Bear in mind, if you have the adaptive cruise/lane keeping camera and take the headliner down to re-mount the antenna, you may need to re-calibrate the camera. I had intermittent issues with my truck going into limp mode on the highway after this repair and had to take it back for a recalibration.

So what I ended up doing was just pulling the c pillars down, and just pulled the back of the liner down enough to get my hands in there. I did the entire repair from the bed reaching through the rear window :)

just got the antenna back on, with the RTV sealant under it. Seems my hammering was pretty ok as the antenna sat flush all but one rear corner. So I put a towel over it and a bag of rocks that I use in the bed for weight to push the back down a bit so the rtv will seal it all the way around. It’s also sealed at the mounting hole.

Stubby antenna ordered as well :)

All Fixed! tested it with a deluge of water and good to go. happy this turned out easier than I feared! Tall antenna on for now until the stubby gets in.
