Storm damage to roof

We had a nasty storm roll through 2 days ago and just now noticed some minor roof damage. There were branches all over my truck and actually lucky the only damage is what is shown on the pictures.
Looks as if the end of a branch hit the roof causing the small dent. You can see it but hard to feel it. The last pic looks like the branch then scrapped the roof.
Hate it but is it worth making an insurance claim for such a small dent? The roof is aluminum, correct? So rust shouldn’t be an issue.

It sucks that this happened.

I’m pretty sure the roof is steel but even aluminum would corrode if left to the elements.

I wouldn't make a claim but that's me. Noone sees the roof anyway. If paint is chipped, use some touch up paint on it.
I got a couple small dents from hail a couple few weeks ago. No dents anywhere else. Thought, hell withit, noone will see them but me when I wash it twice a year.

Geez, if I file a claim each time I may go broke from paying all the deductibles. ?
Going to wash it this weekend and get a better look. The paint doesn’t looked chipped but there is a mark on it. I’m terrible with touch up paint anyway…fingers crossed I can leave it as is.

Taking it to a paintless dent repair shop to get a quote might give you an idea. Depending on your deductible, the repair might be cheaper out of pocket. Never know till you check.

PDR might be able to take care of that for you. That being said, our roofs are steel. At least make sure any cracks in the paint are sealed to prevent corrosion.

Personally, I would not file a claim.


I've used these types of kits before. Worked okay for my needs, but my dents were more advanced for these kits. Anyway, for that type of dent? this should work great.

For small central dents, yes they work.

Add Lift until no one can see it, and no one can look inside to see all the dog hair .....

PDR for a couple dents shouldn't be too costly. if you have a deductible, I'd wager the cost would be less.
