I think mine came with clamps. I have slept since the install and will have to get under the truck and see if I can grab a pic for you. I also did a full cat back exhaust at the same time so not sure if the clap at the downpipe to the exhaust came with the DP or the exhaust???

Now that I’ve looked I remember the same type of clamp came with the exhaust. My DP was an early production and I needed an adaptor to connect to the exhaust. I cannot recall which clamps came with the DP and which were the exhaust, or the adaptor coupling. See the number 1 on the one clamp. I remember the exhaust clamps were numbered.

Yeah when I looked today in the box it was just the downpipe no clamps or adapter. I currently have the afe axleback exhaust system 3in pipes. Hopefully it fits without any additional hardware. Taking it to a friend's shop Friday.

Does anyone have one of these downpipes fitted to a stock exhaust? I tow plenty and would enjoy keeping the quiet exhaust with a more free-breathing turbo. I can handle a BIT more noise, the cab is nice and quiet. But I definitely don't want anything like your cat-back exhausts. Not a fan of the sound, personally.

I had an issue with the adapter. The original adaptor was for a 2.5" exhaust but mine is 3". SPD sent the correct adapter but it took 2 days or so to arrive. Free of charge. Pics of the 3" to 2.5" original adapter.

I cannot stand the sound of my aftermarket exhaust. Sounds like a giant fart can to me but the truck hauls butt. I drive my toy whenever I want a real V8 sound.

Notice the difference. The truck video is of the new DP and 3" exhaust.

I'm...not seeing how this answers my question? Care to explain?

No it does not but it does give you an example of what a non-stock exhaust sounds like with the SPD DP. You said it was not to your liking and I tend to agree with you. I don't like the sound either. The Shelby video was just for shits and grins but I guess you were not entertained. Oh well.

For a while I only had the SPD dp only. You’ll get a little bit of growl and will hear the turbo whistle a lot more.

Just to be clear, you had the SPD down pipe with the stock exhaust left behind it. Cat, muffler, resonator and all?

Cool, thanks. I might look into this then. I could would LOVE a little more spoolyboi noise, and wouldn't mind a little growl.

I think I might try initially with just the downpipe as well, and then make a decision on the rest of the exhaust later. Appreciate all the knowledge on this site!!!

For what its worth I had a rough ride with SPD, I got the downpipe and its the revised model. They indicated that on our trucks a full 3inch exhaust isn't of benefit, but it really sucks to lose the 3inch option given if you ever want to do an upgraded turbo your hacking up a 550 dollar-ish downpipe to accommodate.
Sorry this made me curious, SPD said the upgraded downpipe with factory 2.5 exhaust is best? After a year of owning the truck I'm finally looking in to buying some things.
