Pulling the pipes apart lol.
I took the nut off the clamp it's loose, but boy oh boy the pipes are hard to pull apart.
I can disconnect the electric connection once I pull the pipes apart.
Find something to get some torque on and twist the part you are trying to remove. It would also help if the pipes are warm rather than cold. Just don't burn yourself.

1. the clamp or pulling them apart?

2. Not sure how to help you there. Mine came apart, it’s just a matter of finding that release button and leverage to pull apart
Well I sprayed the flex pipe where it meets the factory downpipe with pb blaster yesterday and today a few taps of the hammer knocked it right off.
I still had bad luck with the lower O2 sensor connection but I got it free.

I got rid of my downpipe, it was just way to hot under the hood with it. I didn’t like it right next to the transmission like that as well. You’ll be fine I think though. What model is that DP?

Which one did you have? I went with a CVF downpipe 304 SS.

I forgot what it was but it was used and come to find out it developed a crack on the mating surface of the exhaust flange. I believe it was the expensive one from Stage3. I tossed it into the trash.

This was the most taxing and difficult install I have ever done. Sheesh. Literal blood and sweat. But sounds amazing and no dummy lights so far. if anyone is thinking of doing this install also, feel free to ask me for some additional tips that helped me get this done

Pretty simple job until the one bolt that is hard to get to and requires maximum effort to break loose. That makes this job a 4 out of 5 wrenches for me. LOL.

A coworker and I installed mine yesterday. I love it. You can tell an immediate difference.

Where we had issues, though.... yeah, that inside nut. It took us forever to break that one.

Worse than that, though... the nuts threaded back on just fine, but during tightening, somehow became cross threaded on two of the studs, causing it to not fully tighten down. This was the top inside nut and the bottom. Both need new studs. Adapting and overcoming was easy, though. We added spacers in front of the nut and were able to get it tightened. Studs are $2.41 each from Levittown. I'm going to order a set and have them on hand, in case there are any issues with the way we did it.

But so far, so good! I feel that the results are well worth the work.
