SPD Downpipe added

Here is my layout so far -
2023 Ford Ranger XLT - Ford Performance Tune, K&N CAI, CFV Intercooler & Pipes, Turbosmart Kompact EM Blowoff Valve, Borla S Exhaust, Mishimoto Red Radiator Hoses, Bilstein 5100 Suspension, Flatlaw Train Horn.

Yesterday I had the SPD downpipe installed (with Borla exhaust already there (2.5")).
Wow! She kicks some booty now! This engine rips! It's a little louder but sounds incredible!

My Borla make the exhaust note deeper and almost tractor like. The downpipe amplifies that and makes it sound stronger/meaner; like now it means business!

I have a CVF downpipe with mbrp catback. I like the sound when I'm driving, but my wife drove the truck the other day and when I heard her arrive to the house I was thinking man that car coming down the street sounds horrible and then I realized it was my truck lmao.

It's a great call! It took me a while to love my downpipe due to the added noise with my cat back exhaust. I played around with a few mufflers to get the sound right. I landed on a pretty gnarly magna flow straight through muffler that killed 90% of the drone and actually made it sound quite a bit deeper and more raptor-like. Fruit for thought as someone that was one step from selling my downpipe from dissatisfaction lol. I love it now

Yeah I was nervous about the sound, but SPD told me it would be very minimal with the stock exhaust.

I'm not sure if over time the loudness/noise morphs, or maybe I've just grown accustomed to it. I do indeed love it though. Three to four thousand RPM and she screams, literally lol.
The performance gain is definitely noticeable.

Yep that's where it roars ?. My magnaflow muffler cut back on it a ways but still retains the chop and depth. I do miss the screams coming from the exhaust though which I did get from the borla I tried

Which Magnaflow did you end up with?

This is the one, an AutoZone out by me had it oddly enough. 3" in 3" out, 6" can and 18" in length. I installed a custom 3" midpipe so this fit right in the middle. There's no cuts to clamp it so I threw some lap bands on for long enough until I knew it was what I liked best, then brought it to a shop to weld it.

Sounds great with the Gibson, especially cold start, kind of sounds like a boat then it quiets down
