Its seems to be a very common issue among all Rangers, not just Tremors. I have had the issue for 55k of the 60k on the truck, 50k of those were with no lift to the rear. Only a few inch in the front to level out. The problem is with the shaft design, that even some unlifted truck even have to deal with. Either way, $700 is cheap to fix a problem.
First, it is mostly non-Tremors that have the issue, very few Tremors have it. Second, if you don't have the problem, and most Tremors do not unless they have been modified, there is no reason to change out the drive shaft. I don't have the problem and I know a couple other people in town with unmodified Rangers and they do not have the problem. Does the problem exist? I'm sure it does, but it is not common on unmodified Tremors.

I too have been struggling with this.
Twice I have put the tequila bottle away thinking that was the cause.
Ok I'm pretty sure I'm sober after a good nights rest...still trying to picture "drive shafts having people"...

Of course it’s mostly non-Tremors that have the issue.

Math works.

It would be the same as someone saying “it is mostly non-Jungle Splash Editions that have the issue, very few Jungle Splash Editions have it.”

I guess I don't understand your point. This post is to show that Tremor owners now have the option of a solid drive shaft. Issue or no issue, a solid is better but no has to get one.

Sir there are lots of fear mongers on this site, along with those who think they are elite and can tell you how to live and diagnose your truck without ever seeing or riding in it. I've found the best thing to do is use the ignore button and you can eliminate them from posting on your threads. After a year I don't get that treatment because 1 by 1 i've blocked the problem children.

Perhaps I should have used a more "mathematical" statement. The percentage of Tremor owners with drive shaft problems is much less than the percent of non-Tremor owners. And most of the Tremor owners with the shake have done suspension mods.

Many of your points are well founded. And what you do and don't do to your truck is your business. But IMO, your solution of blocking may prove to be shortsighted and limiting.

Ranger owners come here for information. Information (knowledge) is power. Many have assisted me in correcting the flaws in my truck. And I appreciate every one of those who helped me.

My ranger had the dreaded shudder and it was terrible at speeds over 75mph. It is now corrected.

My truck was eating batteries, and that has been corrected.

My transmission is bipolar. I now have a functional accurate dipstick and a new transmission pan, and I reset the transmission tables in an effort to stave off an early expensive failure.

My truck swayed and bounced to the point that my wife was car sick each time she rode in it. She finally refused to ride in it. Replacement shocks corrected the issue.

These were all serious and real issues, and thanks to this group, all are (mostly - still working on the trannie) corrected.

My 2020 Ranger is becoming the truck that I thought I was getting when I purchased it new. And a great deal of the credit goes to my fellow Ranger owners on this forum who helped me identify and correct these shortcomings.

If you don't have any of these issues, simply ignore the discussion. That is what I do.

I am not elite. I am not a fearmongerer. I have not blocked anyone. I have no need to, as I have and use discernment.

You are free to block whoever, including me. It doesn't matter to anyone except you. You are not harming or punishing anyone except possibly yourself by limiting the flow of knowledge.

Best of luck to you. I sincerely hope you have many trouble free years with your Ranger Tremor.

I have to say that I am a little jealous of your experience. It is exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased my 2020 Ranger. I had that experience with my 2005 Ranger 4x4. It is still running strong at 175K miles, and I didn't do anything to it except maintenance for the first 155K miles over 16 years.

A more mathematical statement isn’t necessary but anything other than anecdotal information will do.

The reality is, no one (not me, not Ford, not even Dave or Scotty Kilmer ;)) knows if non-Tremor or Tremor owners have these issues more than the other or whether modified or non-modified trucks have them more than the other. ?‍♂ There’s no data - zilch - just a number of folks on a forum posting about their issues and it makes the problem appear to be more widespread than it probably is in the general population of Ranger owners outside the forum.

btw - everyone knows it is mostly non-Shadow Black XLT SuperCabs that have the issue, very few Shadow Black XLT SuperCabs have it. ;)

Please, please, please! Stop calling it a "Solid" drive shaft. It is a "One-Piece" drive shaft, there is a big difference. As a retired engineer I cringe everytime I see it called that.

I totally agree it is great to have an option for people with Tremors that have the issue. Even though we still don't know what is causing it or why some trucks have it and many don't. As has been stated we have no hard data as to how many of the thousands of trucks out there have it and if they have been modified or not. I feel for those who have the issue and am happy my MY2019 with 30K plus miles does not. (Knock on Wood)

You sir are not one that is blocked. You are one of the better members on here in my opinion. It's those that try to tell us with problems that theirs is perfect its all on us that have problems. Saying its or fault we have modified it. When they never even seem the vehicle. I have learned a lot on this forum but also being a retried master auto tech, other than learning about mods, I can make all repairs myself. So if someone posts something I don't like more than once or twice, life's too short to put up with them. Out comes the ignore button. Hope this clears it up and hope your not offended.

Joe,

Thank you for your explanation. I am not offended. I am relieved that I am not a stumbling block to you or others on this forum. My intent is honorable as I believe is yours. I mean you no malice. I think we all want the same thing.

Life is short and it is "book ended" by eternity. I strive for peace, love, and understanding... and I fall short more than I like. None of us are perfect, and some may be mistaken about that. I have learned to overlook that behavior. But sometimes one must separate themselves from negative people. I understand your position. Taking the time to respond as you have speaks volumes. I appreciate that.

BTW, I drove my Ranger tonight and it is the first time in months that the transmission has behaved as I would expect. I am going to turn off the learn mode and keep it in this stable state. It may yet act up again, and when it does I will reset the tables and start all over again. I have noticed that it seems to act up more in the summer heat than in fall and winter... so resetting the tables may not be a fix at all. Time will tell.

- T

Would it not technically be a 3-piece? After all the U joints on each end make it 3 lol. But Yeah I call it a solid but single works haha. Anyway, TW has one for the tremor out there who want the switch.

P.S. my pic did not include the transfer case space that was needed as well for everyone watching, it now has that, making it an extra 1/2 inch shorter.

There seems to be a lot going on in this post, but in all seriousness, I hope this is a benefit to everyone with a Tremor that wants to make the one-piece "not the anime" their next mod. Shudder and squeak aside, I swear I feel the more direct response and power.

My 2019 FX4 has been lifted but I have never had the drive shaft shake.
