Its never over... always more mods will come out.

The amount I have spent on mods over the years for so many vehicles.. i probably could have retired 6-7 years earlier if that money had been saved.

Ordered the Roush Ranger exhaust today. Will post sound clips when I get it installed.
Looking forward to hearing this. Wondered how it sounds compared to many of the other exhaust systems review on here.

I have the Roush exhaust on my F150 and it sounds great. Now granted making a 4CYL sound like a V8 is not in the cards, however, if anyone can make a 4cyl sound good I think Roush might have a shot at it. So I'm pretty excited to hear it also.

Where did you get the exhaust from?

It is impossible to make a 4 cylinder sound good at anything under 8000rpm. My neighbor has a 2008 Lotus Elise with a Borla exhaust system on it, and it sound's like any Corolla or Civic with an 8 inch fart can.

Agreed I have zero expectations - I want better flow and something that might possibly sound good.

I feel like the Roush has to have the best chance of sounding good, since they have so much experience.

I actually have a Honda with an exhaust that doesn't sound raspy or fart canny at all, so there is hope for 4-cylinders to not sound aweful with a modded exhaust.

1.8 4-cyl, 3" mandrel downpipe, no cat, 14" resonator, flowmaster muffler, all mandrel bent. Maybe the much larger turbo on this car could be smoothing the sound out? I dunno

My other vehicle is a Focus RS which has has a four banger that is similar to the Rangers. IMHO it sounds pretty good even in stock form for a 4 cyl. Of course it is never going to sound like a V8, but they did a decent job with the muffler. Not really hearing that fart can sound. And the "pops, bangs and crackles" in sport mode are fun too. I did disable the fake sound in the cabin as it is much more artificial than that of the Ranger.

The Focus RS sound would appeal to many Ranger owners I think. For me, I will keep my exhaust stock (famous last words).
