Hey all,

Any tips on how to easily and affordably achieve a smoother ride on my Ranger (2019 XLT Sport) without sacrificing anything or messing anything up?

I know it’s a truck and it’s supposed to be a little rugged, but when I hit those dang speed bumps it just sways like a mofo!
I have added weight in the bed from baseball equipment, I have the tires inflated to 35psi (down from 40), but just wondering if there’s anything else I can do.
I don’t haul or tow anything really, just mostly a commuter.

Thanks in advance!

Consensus is get the bilstein 5100s or 4600 if you aren't going to do a lift. Eibach is aslo another good choice.

I ordered a set of eibach stage 2r few days ago.. Way over kill for my pavement princess 2wd. It comes with the springs installed and thatll make the install easier.

Try lowering the air pressure down to 30. That’s at least a free fix. Then I would look at rear shocks. Most expensive would be the fronts.

Be careful Christian, suspension upgrades/modifications are just a gateway drug. Ask anyone here with a levelled truck.

Another word of caution, @Bob902 is no different than the drug dealer on the corner. By “fix”, he doesn’t mean “solution”. He’s literally offering you your first fix for free.

RUN!

;)

Still cheaper than hauling around the cheerleaders from Dave’s party

Update:

I installed Bilstein 4600s on the rear (as well as new Bosch Quiet Cast rotors and new OEM brake pads on the front) and holy smokes what a difference!!

I took it for a drive in the San Gabriel Mountains/Angeles National Forest on an uphill, windy, uneven road and it felt like the truck was more glued to the road than ever before. It was awesome!

Gonna install new rotors on the rear and do a brake flush soon as well.

Thanks for all the advice! This community is great 🙂

Cut rear bump stops in half, they are too long. Harsh impact is gone. Did it 115k ago. Tow, haul, off road no ill effects. 5100s in rear are a huge help, front only a little impact. Throwing away the mono leafs are on my list.
