My ozone machine has more than paid for itself 10 times over. It's great for odors and musty smells and good to know it helps control mice too. The house we were renting in Arkansas had a faint smoke smell from the previous owner and it took it right away. The garage was really bad between the smoke and grease oder and running it for 20 minutes twice in a week took it completely away.

They really jumped up in price as I only paid $50.00 for it back on 6/2024

Those in the link have a huge variance in price, from $50 to $360, depending on how many G's you want, whatever that is.

The bigger model is still $49.98, good for 8K sq ft!

I don't understand it, but that is what says...
I realize that but I was showing the one I bought.

You don't want to use one too large because it'll put out too much ozone which isn't good for you. Heck the one I bought will do up to a 4,000 sq ft house which is overkill for most. Try using that large one inside your truck and you'll be smelling ozone for weeks. Trust me it's not a good smell and not something you should be inhaling and I've worked with the commercial ones for years doing smoke and mold remediation. Plus these things are usually over blown as to what size they'll do. Just like the electric power washers that say 2,000 psi when you're lucky if it's 1,200 psi max.

Only run it 1/2 as long to get the same results.

It doesn't work that way, it's the out put not the time. Yes, the ozone will eventually dissipate but you don't want to over expose the room with too much ozone as it does linger.

https://plentifulair.com/what-size-ozone-generator-do-i-need/#Why_Size_Matters_For_Ozone_Generators

Why Size Matters (For Ozone Generators)
Output (size) of ozone generators is measured in mg/hr (milligram per hour).

When dealing with ozone generators, you need just enough output of gas as per the size of the room.

If the device size smaller than required, it won’t produce enough ozone for the removal of germs and other odor agents.

If the output is greater than what the space needs, it can cause multiple health and environmental problems. Ozone is a poisonous gas and can be harmful, especially for pets and children.

Choosing an appropriately sized ozone generator is important for its efficiency and your safety.

If we all run our ozone generators outside we can plug the ozone hole.:inspect:
I think I’m doing my part - apparently, my hot tub has an “ozonator”, whatever the heck that is.

I've owned one for 20 years - back when they were very expensive ($650), and physically much bigger. They work great. My old unit still runs well, but it is not as convenient to use as the modern smaller package designs. It's tubular design is great for air ducts, insert right where the AC plenum splits out the air, and turn it on, then evac the house for a nice day out. Come back, turn on the AC fan and open the windows. You do need the AC running in the deep south in the summer as they don't work in high humidity. Out west you're fine. My old unit has intake air filters as well. Not sure about the newer products.

I read the article, then did a little more research. Cutting time in half or adding a $10 timer to cycle off/on during the cleaning cycle makes the larger unit just as effective. And more flexible if you have a few large rooms with vaulted ceilings..

The 30K unit makes 30.0gm of O3 / 60 minutes. Cost $119 on Amazon
The 65K unit makes 32.5gm of O3 / 30 minutes. Cost $49 on Amazon

If ChatGPT is to be believed... you're fine with the bigger unit. Both units are way over powered for what is needed for a typical vehicle. And you do not want to over saturate. O3 is a powerful oxidizer. It will destroy all manner of things, wiring insulation, plastics, leather and more, and you certainly do not want to breathe it. But it decays rapidly. O3 is inherently unstable, and decays to O2 relatively fast.

When we use it, we seal off the room and close AC vents. Spare bedrooms remained closed and sealed for days after. If we need the room, we ventilate by opening windows within a few hours after the unit has done it's thing.

How long would I need to run a 30K and a 65K O2 generator to clear odors in my 2020 Ford Ranger? Remember, both the 30K and 65K generators.

30,000 mg/h Ozone Generator:

The 30K generator produces 30 grams of ozone per hour. Since your vehicle's interior is small, the treatment time will be relatively quick.

SuperCab (84 cubic feet):
  • Light Odor Removal: 30 minutes.
  • Moderate Odor Removal: 45 minutes.
  • Heavy Odor Removal: 1 hour to 1.5 hours.
SuperCrew (101–102 cubic feet):
  • Light Odor Removal: 30–45 minutes.
  • Moderate Odor Removal: 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Heavy Odor Removal: 1–2 hours.
65,000 mg/h Ozone Generator:

The 65K generator produces 65 grams of ozone per hour, so the treatment time will be faster, but you still want to avoid over-saturating the space.

SuperCab (84 cubic feet):
  • Light Odor Removal: 15–30 minutes.
  • Moderate Odor Removal: 30–45 minutes.
  • Heavy Odor Removal: 45 minutes to 1 hour.
SuperCrew (101–102 cubic feet):
  • Light Odor Removal: 15–30 minutes.
  • Moderate Odor Removal: 30–45 minutes.
  • Heavy Odor Removal: 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Why Does the Time Vary?
  • Higher Output: The 65,000 mg/h generator produces ozone at a faster rate, so less time is needed to saturate the smaller space compared to the 30K.
  • Room Size: The slightly larger SuperCrew (around 101–102 cubic feet) will require a bit more time than the SuperCab (84 cubic feet) because it has more air volume to treat.
  • Ozone Dissipation: If the vehicle has good ventilation (like windows slightly cracked), the ozone may dissipate faster, so you may need to treat for a longer time. Conversely, if the vehicle is sealed, the ozone will stay longer and be more effective in a shorter time.
Treatment Time Summary:
  • For the SuperCab (84 cubic feet):
    • 30K generator: Run for 30–60 minutes for light/moderate odors; 1 hour for heavy odors.
    • 65K generator: Run for 15–30 minutes for light odors; 30–45 minutes for moderate odors; 45 minutes to 1 hour for heavy odors.
  • For the SuperCrew (101–102 cubic feet):
    • 30K generator: Run for 30–60 minutes for light/moderate odors; 1–2 hours for heavy odors.
    • 65K generator: Run for 15–45 minutes for light to moderate odors; 45 minutes to 1 hour for heavy odors.
Why do the Super Crew and Super Cab take the same amount of time on the 65K unit, but not on the 30K unit?
  • With the 30K generator, the SuperCrew takes longer to treat because it’s a slightly larger space and the 30K generator has less ozone output, so it requires more time to reach an effective ozone concentration.
  • With the 65K generator, both the SuperCab and SuperCrew take roughly the same amount of time because the 65K generator is powerful enough to treat both spaces quickly, and the difference in size between the two is less significant compared to the increase in ozone output.
Finally, What do I know? Take this bit of knowledge with a grain of salt. And make your own decision.

I bought the 65K model for $49. I already own the $10 timer. I used it on my big boy unit as it didn't come with a timer back then. Had to hold your breath, get it, turn it off, and get out fast!

Thanks for the post isslandboy!

It bubbles Ozone!?!
Apparently, it introduces ozone into the water to kill bacteria………..and likely me too!

I just had to battle this problem and was able to locate the nest (with dead baby mice). It was under the parking brake boot. You can access it by pulling straight up on the leather boot. I was able to use a shop vac with a skinny attachment as well as a long thin screwdriver to get everything out. I also got rid of any crumbs or nest materials I could find. I'm going to get some mesh and cover the air intakes later this week. I wanted to make sure everyone checks under the parking brake because it's a good spot for a nest.

I just ended the cohabitation of my shop by Mickey and Minnie. Then corrected the slight gap of my garage door gasket that allowed them to squeeze in. The traps have sat empty for 2 days now. I think I got em all!

Found Mickey Jr this morning. Not in a trap, just stretched out dead on the floor. I expect to see other siblings soon enough. He was small - 1.5" body, mostly all head. About 20% the size of an adult.
