Has anyone replaced a windshield? Curious on what the price is! My RS windshield was almost a $1000! Back in 2017. Can’t imagine what it’s worth today! Let me know folks.

I'm not sure of the price of ours ( I thought someone once said $1,000-$1,200?) but if you have the camera that'll have to be calibrated too. I have glass breakage on mine with a 0 deductible because at some point you're going to get a broken/cracked windshield here.

Doesn’t FL have auto glass insurance? Not asking why or if you don’t have it - just thought it was a state requirement.

Find a local replacement company, ensure they use OEM glass, and don't worry about recalibrating the front camera (if you have one). I went through this a couple of months back and I'm happy with the outcome.... well, as happy as one can be after dumping money into a new windshield. Haha

Yep when rock meets windscreen the two losers are the windscreen, and your wallet.
That's why I have glass coverage on all our cars, we live in the country and thus driving at highway speed most of the time, and chips and cracks are a way of life. (Although I've broken screens at 30MPH too)

Insurance didn't cover mine. Rates went up so I changed to $1k deductible and they wanted a $960 one from Safelite. I paid $850 for the Ford OEM glass from a local guy.
That doesn't seem too bad. Did that include any calibrations required?

ive seen a few 5g rangers being parted out on ebay craigslist and other web pages. if one is near your area make them an offer on the glass if it is still good. most salvage yards will not pass up on a customer with cash in hand.

Replaced mine...twice. Insurance did not have windshield coverage so I ended up coughing up the 1k deductable. The first replacement was less then a week old when I recieved a rock right in the middle of it. I was reaching for the console to make a call and I thought I had gotten shocked it was such a piercing sound.

*edit* To answer the OP question, I paid 900 for OEM glass.

Do they wind up or get a running start before kicking you in the balls? I think I prefer the tap on the shoulder, turn around, swift knee approach.
I get freaked out seeing some of these prices. I know you didn’t get taken advantage of as this seems at or below the avg reported price. Still hurts.

Doesn’t everyone have the camera for the automatic emergency braking? I thought it was standard. I have it on my XL. Or are we talking about something else?

He was doing another one that was double that price. Some new Explorer with the electrically defrosting windshield.
