May 2020 I poked under the dash and took out the cabin air filter to find it pretty filled with dirt...well, here's a reminder not to forget that little bugger...
In other news I did a short run(<3k) on some full synthetic 5-30 and sent it to the lab, hoping for a better fuel in oil result...
My 19 Ranger did not need anything special to adjust the wiper arm itself if the washer is not able to be adjusted. I just needed to take the bolt off and its an interference fit. they may have changed that on the later models though.
June our tracks open. There was a cleanup day at a nearby 1/8th mile last weekend but I've been putting in overtime at the new job. Means I can afford the fuel system fix and the fuel to go racing right?
Latest report on my oil, going to take it into the dealership and have them go over it and see what they can find. Kicking myself for not pressing this when I was in the warranty period.
I still have a CB unit in my first "new" vehicle even though the antenna has long since been ripped off by a traffic incident. Only reason I didn't go through the process of being "legal" was the only time I used it "officially" was during a trip through Canada I helped an over the road trucker...
Nothing new on the Ranger but I guess a warning, don't visit me at my new job... Will be moving to a county job managing the cemeteries in a couple weeks...:D
Small pay increase but benefits are paid, shorter work week(4 vrs 7), no federal holidays, yearly clothing allowance, and much better...
Had a close call on my Hyundai, battery registered 3 volts, barely one cell active after our -60F wind chill nights. Put on my "old reliable" 12 amp charger and of course it errored out on the first charge. Almost gave up and ordered a battery before throwing my 20 amp "smart" charger on it...
Normally towing less then 3,000 pounds, hit 5,000 a few times hauling lumber. I'd have to say I've towed over 2,000 miles total of the 26k+ total mileage. Been testing oil since I bought it due to drag racing the truck for the past three years. Only issue I've had was watching the gas gauge...
No matter the vehicle I always have a tool kit:
Back before my enlistment I was visited by a recruiter for a physical fitness check before MEPS. We stopped by the local school track and after the test found we had been locked in. He called the police and I went to work dismantling the gate. The...
I use microfiber rags on the inside due to the sound shield, then newspaper on the outside to really clear off the grime. I use a grote's interior cleaner(good on the seats too!) that does well on removing the oil residue inside and regular glass cleaner on the outside..
Replaced mine...twice. Insurance did not have windshield coverage so I ended up coughing up the 1k deductable. The first replacement was less then a week old when I recieved a rock right in the middle of it. I was reaching for the console to make a call and I thought I had gotten shocked it was...
I spray a maintance coat of meguiars ceramic wax after I pressure wash the vehicle. Paying 14 bucks a pop for touchless carwash is a little too rich for me. It is a truck though, so it tends to get dirty when I'm out in the weeds. I notice I don't have as much stuck on crud on my rig then others...
Had this issue after a recent windshield replacement...my second...ouch! Noticed that this issue was happening so went to find my wiper puller, of course I was not able to find it at that time.
Fortunately these wipers are not press fit so after loosening the bolt its easy to realign the...
I've had my own nightmare over this tonneau cover over the same reasons. I love it when it works though, doesn't block much of the back window when folded up and provides a good bit of security when rolled down.
Pictures are of my second wind incedent, final fix and first version with the cover...
Wes,
I know it seems like a hassle but for the love of god do the oil change yourself. I made the mistake of letting the local dealership do my "Free" oil changes and now:
1. Top end of my engine covered in oil due to not seating the dip stick correctly
2. Still fighting them on what happened...
Glad you solved it, I've been through the ringer trying to figure out why I was having so much variation on my times on the track when the weather was not changing and I was basically hot lapping. Found out I forgot to tighten one of the clamps down on the air box causing random air leaks...
