All,
Took my 24' Lariat FX4 on a short road trip this summer. When I left my truck had just a little more than 2k miles on it. When I finished it was a little over 8200 miles. I averaged 24.5 mpg for the trip. The high temp I hit was 113° in central Texas and a low of 49° in Cody, WY. I had altitudes from sea level to over 10,000ft. Average speed on the highways was 80ish. The whole trip was 39 total days and I covered quite a few states. Throughout the trip the truck performed flawlessly. I did stop in Amarillo for an oil change at one of the Ford dealerships

Sounds like you had a great trip Sammy and glad to hear your Ranger performed well. I wouldn't call 6,000 miles short though. lol ? There's nothing like hitting the road in your truck to see the great country we live in!

We've taken 2 similar trips the past 2 years averaging just over 5,000 miles on each trip. I have to say the Ranger was super comfortable driving and like you we went through all different elevations from 1,000' in AZ up to 14,000' in Colorado. It still amazes me how smooth and fast this little 4cyl is every time I drive it.

Sounds like a great trip. 24.5 MPG at 80 ish? Wow, is your FX4 stock?
Happy to hear your Ranger performed well on the road. Got any pics to share of any unique out-of-the way places you found?

This 24' rides so much better than my 19'. I am so glad I ordered the Lariat over the XLT. The new seats are much more comfortable. You are right in regards to the power of the 2.3. Plenty there to drive comfortably!

Completely stock. The only exception is a tonneau cover.

I have about 900 pic's to go through but I'll try and find some good ones. This was a trip my late wife and I were supposed to take so it was a little bittersweet. But I know she was watching out for me all the way!

Welcome back Clark,

I trust you and the rest of the Griswalds had a great time. Post some pics when you get time to sort through them.
