I believe they will move your sticker, if you ask them. Plus I think you can remove and save the sticker too (I think it's a static cling one).

Safelite moved my dump sticker over on another car, and it was a peel a stick one that I could not have taken off on my own.

From the Safelite website:

Yes, if possible. We will remove inspection stickers and other items affixed to your windshield and, if permitted by law, re-apply to the new windshield.

Another vote for Safelite. I've been using them for years and they've been great both in AZ & in MA. What's nice is there mobile repair will come right to you anywhere you are. I've had them repair my F150's right on the construction site and at my house and they recalibrate the camera right on site too.
Thank you Dave! That gives me a level of comfort that I didn’t have previously.

Thank you @subquark (David). I’m laughing at the dump sticker reference because we all know how much you love the dump ???

Safelight replaced my windshield in that Toyota I mentioned, after I failed inspection, and it leaked. Once I figured out the most likely area, I stuck the end of a tube of silicon under the lower lip of the molding and sealed it up, and it never leaked again. Just fyi... I wasn't necessarily disappointed with them, and since I was able to fix it I didn't go back to complain.

Small cracks can be safely repaired and I’ve done that a number of times with Safelite. Repairing would alleviate your concerns and save you some money, since most insurers don’t charge a deductible with a repair.

That's 'cuz you're too short and don't have a tall enough ladder to reach the windshield.

Had to replace m6 windshield earlier this year. Used a local autoglass shop. They used OEM glass and moved the building sticker, as well as inspection and car wash decals.. and they also recalibrated

There are kits you can buy (permatex) that pull a vacuum, and i've had better results with those than paying safelite.

I got 3 chips in the span of two weeks this fall :| still waiting for the temperature to warm up enough to repair.

Had 1 chip in the three years prior. Filled it in with the permatex kit, and has been good for 2 years so far.

edit: this doesn't even get into work a safelite affiliated shop did about a decade ago. I think they had a crowbar to remove the windshield. scratches in paint in both pillars, and they dropped the windshield on the hood.

Safelite corporate ended up paying for a new windshield (the one they installed had a huge visual defect at eye level for the passenger, and cracked within 2 weeks, no chip), and to have my car repainted. Took a lot of phone calls, inspections, bitching to get there. I won't use them since.

I remember the first time I had a crack in my windshield, I definitely had a wake up call on the 900 dollar cost of the windshield. Then came two days later, *Crack*, I thought I had been shocked by the touch screen...nope, huge bullseye right in the middle of my windshield.

So I was just minding my own business while traveling down the road when all of the sudden I heard a loud pop and behold my front windshield had been defiled by some foreign object causing 2 small cracks, damn it!! My question now is, should I replace the windshield or just have the cracks repaired. I kind off like have the “build sticker” and the bottom “ranger” tag on the factory windshield.
What does a repair look like? Anyone had this happen to them? Thoughts???
I’ve been replacing windshields and doing chip repairs for 23 years. I can tell you safelite is definitely not the best. They are very fast but their quality is lacking. Do your research talk to your insurance and take it where you feel comfortable. FYI, your insurance cannot make you go where they want you to. It is your choice. As for what the chip might look like, it is still broken glass, so it is still going to be visible. They are also not completely guaranteed to stay fixed, they can fail. Good luck!

Years ago I had a bmw and got a crack. When I called the insurance company they tried to send me to a shop, but I said I wanted it done at the dealer, and they didn't complain. Got it done at the dealer, who kept it overnight so the sealant would cure properly (they said).

I would urge all to check with your insurance companies for additional glass replacement coverage.
Yeah, most will cover a "fix", but for replacement it is usually passed on to the owner.
We have Travelers, and a glass replacement addition to our policy ran just over $60 bucks per year, and that is for my Ranger and wifes Subi Outback. Has a $50 buck deductible which is peanuts compared to over $1000 for a windshield.
And, the glass coverage is for ALL the glass, not just the windshield.
Can't hurt to check with your insurance co......
