Here in the Denver metro area they get the main roads, but rarely get the neighborhoods unless it's the rare super heavy storm.

I've said the same thing about our milktrucks. Extra revenue stream!
I drove a mail truck an joked about putting plows on those but they couldn't get out of their own way with the payload of mail an a 1980's tech 82 HP GM iron duke 4 cylinder motor.

On the side streets when they got a chance to plow them it was one pass down the middle until they could eventually come back to clean them better. The current trucks have open difs on them an the right tire that's off the road in the snow an gravel is the drive wheel. Lots of heads up planning there.

Our milk trucks are open diffs too. But at least they're duallies and heavier. Drive wheel seems to be left on most of them too.

They suck to chain up, but once you do they're tanks.

I didn't care for the stock Dynapros in the winter, but I had winters on my last few cars and found them better for stopping and maintaining control. With lake effect snow in Bowmanville and my dad living in northern Ontario I'm up there a few times each winter so it's a no-brainer for me, and I can store and switch them myself. Plus it gives me a chance to have a look underneath the truck to see if anything else needs attention.

@MountainGoat sometimes a road that has NOT been plowed is a lot better than one that has been plowed but a layer of snow was left. The City of Wellsville always leave the blades at least an inch above the road surface. This causes the snow that is left to be slick and turn into ice sheets.
We get ice here under the snow. A lot of neighbors get stuck in one particular place, going uphill and turning right at the same time. The tree coverage means the ice doesn't melt for a longer time. Still my truck was fine with it.

I will eventually get the Wildpeaks along with a 2-2.5" level but it's more of a want than a need.

As seen here today. My boss shut work down so I got personal things done.

Went to the store.

The sun at 2 in the afternoon. Lake effect clouds are thin.

Loading up at home. Who needs snow tires??!! :giggle:

On the trails. Could it get any more pretty than this? We got about 10 inches overnight.

I am looking forward to a good snow here. I'd really like to go out and play with the Ranger.
Same in NH. we have had a couple of inches but nothing really good. I miss Lake Effect snow. (never thought I would say that one). (lived off the end of Lake Ontario for many years)

Sorry ignorant about snow driving. Driven to mountains with snow but never snow on the road. At what point do you engage 4wd, if at all on asphalt with snow on the road? I would guess only if there is traction loss but is there a point to engage for safety purposes?

I have the Grabber ATx that came on the Tremor. Reviews seem to say they are good in snow but obviously not SNOW tires as you guys would have experience there.

Thanks!

Most of the times when dive and there is a chance of snow, we turn it on. Usually our roads are already lubricated with something, weather it be sand, dirt, water or even ice, then 4wd is your friend.
