Jeff, I am still on the fence about the Fox kit. I am also in Louisville and my thoughts are to order the kit, probably from Levitown Ford where it is cheaper and have it installed locally in order to keep my warrantee good. Can I ask what dealer quoted you 700 dollars? I usually deal with BC but I am not always thrilled with their service department.
Yeah BC said they couldn’t look up the part number. OX says they can’t order Ford Performance parts. AS wants $700 to install. TC says they can order from vendor but are getting back to me on specifics and think $1000 for install. Both quotes include alignment. TC says the may have to align Adaptive Cruise. I have adaptive in a 3 inch lift and have no problems now. Headlights are another issue though.

Thanks. I have never used AS but I may give them a try. The Ford procedure calls for Wheel, headlight and cruse radar alignment.

There’s no reason you can’t use stock wheels. The raptor wheels have the exact same offset as stock. Headlight alignment is super easy btw. There’s a nut that you can adjust them down with. Takes 15 min max once you read the directions.

I would say if you don’t want to off-road a fair amount and don't have a need for taller tires, I would stick with stock suspension. The added lift and tires def cut down on mpg, and just isn’t as smooth with bigger tires. I feel like the truck road like a Cadillac stock. With this kit and bigger tires I sure miss the smoothness and how efficient it was. But I need a lift and taller tires and improved suspension for some of the places I need to get to. But if your staying on highways and paved roads I personally wouldn’t recommend this kit.

$700-1000 for installation is too high. I paid $500 for installation and alignment in Tulsa, OK. High quotes often mean they don't want the job or are unsure how to do it. I was lucky enough to be near a dealer that had a specific department to install aftermarket accessories. They do suspension mods to some of their trucks BEFORE they even put them on the lot. I would have been far more hesitant had their knowledge been lacking. A knowledgeable tech could have the kit done in 4-5 hours.

The rear shocks you can install yourself and take all of 20mins. The fronts are fairly easy but if your not comfortable should be no more then 200 plus alignment.

I haven't seen them both in person but it looks to me like the Ford Performance set and the aftermarket Fox set have different springs.

What are the part numbers on your Ford Fox front coilovers? On my Fox coilovers, the springs say 1400-300-550-0619 but the 0619 is in very small print. On the top of the shock body it says 985-02-133 and 278164PP. For the rear Fox shocks, on top of the shock body it says 985-24-207 and 327377.

TC hooking me up. Parts guy read that it says if you change the settings on the shock it voids the warranty. Rick the service manager ran it down for me. Parts arrived overnight.
Looks like that is the part number for the complete coilover assembly. Mine (Fox) is 985-02-133 on each front coilover box, which is the same as what is stamped on the top of the shock body.

Here’s a pic of the Ford Fox kit spring P/N. I guess it is different.

Now, how do we decipher what all the numbers mean? There must be a difference between the Fox and the Ford/Fox springs on the front coilovers.
