Ranger Fender vent lighting

Did the same on my Lariat stock flares and mounted the red the same as the OP blue photo. Got the Airdesign vents this week and actually mounted the lights to the inner fender frame so they shine outward.

Anybody install ditch lights in the fender vent? Might be a lower MPG/wind noise consequence area to get some side lighting installed...

I used some plastic trim tools and popped the cover off. There is a hole there already I used.

How did you find routing the wires through the inner fender area up to the light, smooth go or did you run it along the fender inside the engine compartment?
I got the amber LED's and am going to connect them to the front signals so i can have side signals.

Just near the bracket for the hood there was a hole. I used some plastic loom to keep the wire from shorting and ran it through there and in the engine bay.

How scary was it popping those out ? I just know im going to break something , but thats pretty damn cool looking . Might just order a set to have ready in case I do break them on the way out.

It wasn’t that scary at all. Use painters tape all around and plastic trim tools. Oh and go slow ?

Mine had some 3m tape closer to the door. Seems like a well put together piece of trim and fairly sturdy.

I just installed fender lights today and yes i had the tape material also, i used the holes you suggested under the hood struts and used Posi-Tap 'tap it' connecters.
I connected to the front signals, i had to remove the air intake scoop to be able to tap into those wires, the drivers side was a breeze even with the battery there. I coated the wire taps with a spray call Boeshield anti corrosion spray it turns into a wax type consistency and seals out moisture, I've used it on my boat when doing connections and upgrades to protect against the saltwater environment.
