That looks pretty cool. Are they on their own circuit, or tied to the headlights?

Welcome Doug to this great forum and Ranger. I like the lights that you did. I have blue rear license plate light bulbs??? I assume that is illegal?

I run red fender lights on my F150 and knock on wood no problems yet.

How do the vents come off? is there an existing opening to pass the wires to a power source? What is a good source fo the LED's?

Thanks all.

I have been wanting to do this but in amber "side marker color" type lighting.

Can you share the source for that LED block please? :)

I tapped it from the drivers side marker light.

Hi Jerry,

The splice you used for the red wire tap is a POS....it is most likely going to fail...You need a more robust splice methodology. I have been over this several times...Scotchloc splices are terrible, Then cut the wiring sheath leaving the support to the copper strands in the wiring and will fatigue and fail. I do not recommend this sort of splice for anything other than an emergency repair to be fixed at a later date....

Ranger Forum folks....do not do splices this way, ever!

Sincerely,
Phil

Folks,

For wiring needs, I recommend Terminal Supply 800-989-9632 . Call and tell them what you need and they will send high quality robust connectors....only problem is you have to buy in quantity.
Browse their website http://terminalsupplyco.com. I have no affilation with them...My Ford off road teams used them to improve the electrical systems on their race trucks in place of auto parts connectors that are POS.

Best.
Phil

I used some plastic trim tools and popped the cover off. There is a hole there already I used.

I get what you’re saying, and I do appreciate your candid response. I’ve worked with low voltage wire most of my life. If it fails I will make a proper splice but at this time I wasn’t prepared to make a cut if I didn’t have too. I sealed the connector with liquid electrical tape which should hold it in place.
The plan is to black out the marker lights someday soon and one day if they stop working that’s ok too, I don’t really need them and besides they take away from my awesome new LEDS.
