ranger engine cover

I have tried from two sources to get a engine cover for My 2021 Ranger Super crew xlt and each time they have stated that they do not make one for this model. Both times I tried to buy one from a Ford Delership. The engines are the same regardless of trim level right ? They have the covers for the Lariat model only. What iam I missing ?

Nothing but you need to find a dealer that knows what they're talking about. There's only one engine (2.3) so there's only one engine cover for all Ranger models and years for the 5G. I haven't looked in a long time but you can try doing a search online for one. Just make sure you add the studs and nuts for it, you'll need two of each.

They are most likely searching by VIN#, the engine cover was only included with the Lariat trim, so they are not seeing it as an effective part number.

The current part number for the cover is - L1MZ-6A949-C - $148.00

Quite a price jump from Nov-22 when I bought mine for $61.00
This is for the cover only, Studs & Nuts are purchased separately

Levittown bundles everything together. I bought my cover from them in 2021. They are a great source for online OEM parts and accessories.

Next to where they stock bird seed, you'll see a display for "Tasty Treats For Your Little Critters"...
available in single and triple packs...
Save's you from having to order from Ford.....and each cover comes in different flavors !!!

Funny and sad, well mostly sad when the consumer / owner knows more about a vehicle than the brand named seller of it. And this isn’t just Ford or a few dealers. I had more than I can count experiences like this with different makers / sellers of cars.

Even once when I said “I sure wish that trim level came in _____ color” knowing it didn’t but was told it absolutely did! I told them, “ok let’s place an order for one then!”

After the salesperson keyed it into the computer, oh I see it isn’t available in that color, are you sure you wouldn’t want to do xxxx color?

Fun and sad knowing more than “them”.
