Some of you are missing the point - its the thrill if the chase!. I just finished adding Adaptive cruise with the help from this forum we figured it out!
I haven't watched the video yet, but I am sure it can be done and with enough money and time even add the door handles to unlock.
But not for the electrically uninterested or faint of heart.
For me I am coming up on 4 yrs and am used to the KEY. But I do find it annoying when I drive one of our other cars that have that damn key-less shit! ?

Oh and these parts are junk yard findable to lower parts cost.

For what it's worth, I think there's at least one person that has done a conversion on the '15-20 generation F150, but that involved swapping in the wiring harness, dash, and module from a push button truck. I think it involved programming in some modules from the donor truck as well. Probably possible to do the same for the Ranger, but youd need to take at least the whole dash apart to swap harnesses/column, and know how to make the new modules all work right which probably takes Ford dealer software.

The quickest, easiest way to get push button start in my opinion? Trade the XLT for a Lariat, but that's the boring option.

oh ye of little faith!
Forscan can work wonders.
With a little research the wiring can be figured out and even inserting into OEM connectors is doable. then just run your own harnesses as opposed to replacing existing. Especially in the dash - for the reasons you stated. At which point I would agree not worth it.
I am going to take a look at the wiring to see what it looks like and what additional modules are needed

It’s a little pain in the ass when our other three automobiles have it and one does not. The struggles of the 1%’er’s are real……
haha i gotcha ive always had more vehicles that need a key then one that was keyless tbh so its never bothered me all to much

If you have to be that far away from truck for this retrofit system to lock the doors, how close to you have to be for someone to hop in and drive off with it? Once it auto unlocks, seems like it has recognized the key fob and is good to go.
