I had the truck turned off and headlights off, but I pulled the headlamp stalk back towards me and the truck made a beeping noise I've never head before and it turned on the headlights.

Can someone explain this function? I checked the owners manual and there is no mention, I know it can be used for flash to pass or whatever your preferred terminology is, but that's not what is happening.

Was the door open? My truck beeps if you turn the head lights on with the door open.

Just so we're clear, it's not the usual chime or Doo Doo Doo. It's a single beep.

Just tried it. Single beep and the lights turn on. Hmmm…

Check to see if the headlamps go out on their own in the same amount of time that you have the autolamps courtesy time set. If so, it is most likely just reactivating the autolamps function and is normal.

I did it by accident one time. They did go back out after awhile. I guess you can use it to get inside in a dark garage.

was changing my fog lights out for new led bulbs and my 2 year old was pretend driving the driving. all of a sudden the lights came on and the radio was on and the keys were in my pocket.

My brother mentioned yea modern cars are funny if you press enough buttons something will activate.

Great tip - I’ll use it when fumbling in the dark to unlock the cottage door.

That's a cool feature! I had no idea. Definitely does a different single beep and turns the headlights on in my XLT.
