Had these internal blind spot mirrors for some time now but forgot to mention it here...they're not on Amazon anymore so I had to hunt down the second one on Ebay...

The radio puzzle is as complete as I need for coms on the road/trails...I went with a standard dual band which has 25 watts instead of 20 and used Chirp to program it for all 22 GMRS channels + repeaters and NOAA with a permanent inline power/SWR meter....organized chaos... ?

A traditional CB unit still lives on-board but the mic is tucked away in the cubby...just in case someone without a TGD wants to talk, I'll have this old tech to converse with the damper-less cowd... ?
Sid, I’m not sure if I should nickname your rig BORG or VGER. ?

Sid you know anything about stepper motors? I want to build an electric folding antenna mount with a simple up/down function where it only rotates 90 degrees either way and stops automatically.

I want to mount the antenna on a side panel of my rack, but don't want to get out and manually fold it everytime I get a hamburger at the drive through or park in my garage.

Pre-made units are being sold for like $130 and knowing what components are used to make them it comes off as a rip-off.

Got me another "shiny object"...purdeeeee... ?

Velossatech Ram intake...

IMG_0017.jpg

The left bolt (right in the middle of the pic) is a little troublesome...it's long and needs an extension to reach...getting it to start without cross threading takes patience...

I want to believe that the primary goal of the Big Mouth is to recoup some MPG's but here I'm going out on a limb and say that's some nice bling to compliment your grill.

I'm hoping it'll do just that...they claimed 2mpg...Snorkels also is claimed to do the same with ram air...

I'd say this is accurate. I popped it on my truck an I track every tank of gas an if there was an improvement it was half a MPG.

It was my record keeping that established to 2 MPG highway increase.

I can't vouch for everyone else's experience. I drove the exact same route(s) through a little more than three tanks of gas from the same station (Sam's Club premium) the only mods being the UPR catch can, Magnaflow exhaust and the GFB DV+. Unleashed tune. Although I had calibrated my on board mileage computer I manually calculated my mileage. This was on 'summer' blend fuel.

Absolutely I got better mileage - and I went into the test sure it was snake oil. My impression of VT was it was just a styling boutique accessory and I wouldn't have gone all in for them on Ranger5g unless I was certain.

Leveling the front end - that is raising it by 1.75 inches - dinged my MPG's a little later on. The Magnum intake did nothing and I don't think the mishimoto intercooler pipes changed anything either as far as MPG's except when I drove with just the cold side pipe installed for a tank - the power seemed down but the mileage shot up. I'd actually expect a bone stock Ranger consistently driven with the same fuel would - at sub-70 MPH highway speeds - get at least that 2 MPG's more. I'm no hyper-miler.

Extra Edit to add: going back to my post on the VT development and product launch it looks like @Langwilliams and I had similar experiences... we gave up gains by levelling our trucks, although I still maintain a higher average than before the VT.

I really love your build it's great! So far, what have been your favorite modifications? I always like to hear since you've done quite a few things!

Hey Jack...didn't mean to skip over your post...didn't even get a notification...

As to your question, I'm afraid I don't have any advice to give you...I too have a folding cell amp antenna that's like 4 feet tall but I have to manually fold it up and lock it in place...not something I like to drive into garage and forget that it's up... o_O

Thanks for your comment...as to your question...the usual must have like level/lift/big tires/wheels etc are the "expected" to give the Ranger the necessary muscle stance...I guess my favorites would have to be the one offs that are unique to my truck...ready for a photo dump??
