Lately on my 19 ranger I’ve been driving down the road and all the sudden I get that red flashing pre-collision warning and I’m nowhere near going to hit someone, sometimes there’s nobody even in front of me has anyone else had this happened to them?

Do you have a unbuffed haze of Rain X on the windshield in front of the camera?
That will trigger false alerts

If you have Active Cruise Control (ACC)
Then the collision warning uses 2 modules - The CCM and the IPMA

The IPMA uses the view through the windshield - so any glass distortion or haze will throw it off
It also utilizes a IPMA Heater - This is the diagonal line you see through the glass.

The CCM - mounted in the front bumper (If installed) may have some debris or blockage on the front cover, also insure it is secure - both front cover and the CCM itself.
Edit: Forgot to add Dew and Frost on the cover of the CCM will also trigger issues in the system.

Have you checked for any Codes?

You may also try a recalibration of both units via Forscan or Scan Tool

I think there is also a sensitivity setting in the dash menu somewhere for that.

I get warnings from time and time, and once it actually saved my ass. I glanced down at the radio or something, it started screaming at me; someone in front of me had suddenly slowed down to make a turn.

I had it go off this week, I wasnt close to the guy in front of me but I was closing in on him fast, it has come in handy a few times in traffic!
I have a TPM sensor going bad, I just turned 50k miles yesterday ... and I guess its time for things to start falling apart :(
I have averaged 20mpg this month and 17mpg since Jan.

After my one close call, I think I set mine at full sensitivity. I'd much rather be annoyed, than have a situation where I rely on the 'system' to brake without enough room to stop me.

I’ve gone from 20mg around town to 23 after the DPFE sensor got replaced a month ago. yours may be starting to get clogged. (50k on the clock)

It’s such a PITA to sell such things these days - all those lowball offers showing up in your inbox - people not showing up to see it when they said they would - the annoying dickering over your asking price.

I’d probably give it away too. :D
