My late father in law had one of those. Now my sister in law has it. They don't stress it much so it'll probably last them a good while longer.
But it's a butt ugly truck inside and out in my opinion. Dodge has made some nice looking vehicles over time, but this one isn't it.
I actually liked the updated dakota except for their weird protruding front bumper which was flattend in a face lift towards the end.

I had a 96 Dakota a couple vehicles before it. Very fun little truck.

I just wish they weren't such piles of garbage... The 05 dakotas seats were great for me, and just what I needed in terms of interior functionality but damn if you skip a day of maintenance things go kablam!

That said, my heart will always be for the Chevy/GMC S10/Sonoma or the first Gen colorado...

those were sweet lil trucks id drive it! i heard they never broke down and got good mpg.
I loved it - ran great - got me to and from mountain bike races all over BC, Alberta, and Washington. It just wouldn’t quit but when I was humping it up over the Coastal and Rocky Mountain ranges, at times it seemed like it would be faster if I got out and pushed. ? That little 4-cylinder was nothing like ours but it was still a lot of fun.

Go back behind Fawnskin some time too for some offroading.
That’s where I was nice that it is open in the winter. Lots of fun trails and camping spots back there.

I participated in the 'Winter Fun Fest' organized by the California Four Wheel Drive Association. Weather was bad (lots of rain) but we also got some snow. As usual mine was the only Ranger, leading a pack of mostly Jeeps.

We explored some nice locations in the gold country - unfortunately due to the weather some routes had become impassable. On the plus side there were lots of cool waterfalls to check out and some nice mud/puddles to splash through.

I believe this is the longest covered bridge west of the Mississippi.

I always wanted to make it but could never make the timing work. Looks like a blast!

I participate regularly in Cal4Wheel events and can definitely recommend it. The winter event usually gets more snow but this time around it seems a lot of it melted because of the rain. Either way it's a great event in a beautiful location!
