I didn't even know those existed until a few years ago. I was waiting in line for a school pickup (early enough that most drivers turned off their vehicles). When it came time to go, the car next to me wouldn't start. A guy comes out with one of those, and got it started.
Never have liked using jumper cables, so I bought a Noco. First day I had it, my riding mower wouldn't start, so I got immediate use out of it. Since then the only time I used it was to help a stranded motorist. They are nice to have.
