As my Ranger closes in on 2 years old I have new phone connection problem . Just this week I have to power off and then turn on the phone to connect to the truck . Every morning it shows not being connected . After the off and on thing it is instantly paired . Is this my new normal ?

The first thing I always try is re-booting the phone. If that doesn't work maybe try disconnecting the phone, and pair it again. Past those little things I'm to danged old to try too learn about this new fangled stuff. :)

Marty, Is the bluetooth on your phone somehow getting turned off and that's why it's not connecting? I know when I use my iPhone maps I have to turn off my phones bluetooth so I can hear the directions from the phone. I've got back in my truck and it wouldn't connect with the truck then I remembered I needed to turn it back on.

I am not turning it off Dave but the phone might be doing it on its own , maybe . I suppose all I have to do is shut the phone at night and when I go out every morning turn the phone on in the truck and it would connect .

Before doing that I would check the phones bluetooth before you start your truck in the morning. If it's off then you know it's the phone and not a problem with Sync or the truck. I never shut my phone off but I do try and remember to reboot it once a week. If I don't it can get wonky with connections and some apps.

Yes, I think it’s normal on Ford products, or it could be exclusive to the Ranger since the rest of everything computer program related is subpar.

No, this is not normal. 2 years almost 20K, my phone connects to Bluetooth immediately everytime I start the truck unless I have intentionally turned off Bluetooth (or left my phone home). You should check your phone for an app you use that is turning your Bluetooth off.

Done that but then the next they are not paired . So now I just go to the truck every day and just turn the phone on and they are paired .
do you have something like headphones paired with the phone? sometimes those devices are still connected not letting other devices to connect

Similar issues in several Sync threads….

Sounds like you are on Sync 3.4, build 22257. Upgrading ti build 23188 should solve your problems.
