I would like to see better gauges and separated, unlike the fuel and temp gauge being integrated.
Half of the right entertainment screen on the Lariat could include temp, alternator maybe even a boost gauge. Oil pressure was an old favorite of mine too.

I suppose manufacturers do not see the need considering the advances in technology. Instead we have idiot lights.
Yes! I really miss the oil pressure gauge and the amp gauge I had in my last truck. That oil pressure gauge saved me some potential engine repairs...it started reading low oil pressure so I had it checked out. Turned out the sending unit was going bad, and I luckily caught it by watching my gauges.

The only think I do not like about the Ranger is the door
Ranger door arm rest.webp
arm rest/door handle

When I drive I manspread and the door handle gets me right in the knee.

Thinking about removing it and making the edge a little more rounded.
I just noticed the other day I also have that issue to the point that the finish is starting to wear off of my handle - 2000 miles:frown:

My only pet peeve as of late is that I have to fill up the gas tank when it runs empty :'(

Re. oil pressure gauge. If Ford decided to install an oil pressure gauge (doubtful) a "real" gauge would be best. For years Ford's oil pressure gauge (when installed) was nothing more than an analog light, registering in the middle of the green until the pressure dropped to <3 PSI, then would drop to zero. The oil pressure gauge in my RS appears to be the real thing. Same for my son's ST but Ford's mainstream vehicles with a gauge are nothing more than a pseudo llght.

I'll start my car via Ford Pass 2 or 3 minutes before I'm ready to go. (By the way, why do you have to press the start button on Ford Pass so long for it to start?) When I get in the car and press the start button in order to drive, the seat heater automatically comes on full blast. I've had a couple of cases of fried ass because I didn't notice it until I started cooking.

I'm assuming they did this as a precautionary so it didn't go on from something rubbing up against it. Some people just throw their phones in their pockets or pocketbooks without closing out from an app,my girlfriend does this all the time. Kind of like butt dialing lol

Auto-start stop
That damn double-honk when i get out of my running truck with my key in my pocket. Either give me a proper key and switch or stop annoying me when I use the convenience feature.
Same here! I actually found this forum to see if anyone knew how to deactivate that.

I believe it can also be deactivated using ForScan to modify settings in the truck's computer. This method would require some equipment and software to accomplish but info on that is available here on this site in other threads. I don't have those links immediately to post with this comment, but if no one has chipped in with a link by the time I get back home tonight, I will try to find it and post again.

Oh, and I guess I have another peeve; the CarPlay is sketchy. Sometimes it just never turns on at all, and I can't figure out why. This probably seems petty, but for example, it's happened when I left work, and as I'm driving 30 minutes home, I realize that the CarPlay hadn't 'engaged'. I have an iPhone that's plugged into the USB, so I try unplugging it, shutting off the phone and restarting it...and short of pulling over and shutting off the truck, and hopefully the CarPlay comes on when I restart the truck, it just never activates. It's frustrating that I can't figure out why. Also, it would be nice if CarPlay worked with Bluetooth, rather than having to be tethered to a USB.
I have an Android phone, so YMMV, but Android Auto won't connect unless my phone screen is unlocked
