Parking brake boot.....Genuine Pleather

And now it has happened

This is the "frame" after the original boot has been peeled off.

This is the glue I used (contact cement). A package of 4 tubes was under $5. It took almost exactly one tube to do the boot.

Ready to go in...

Pull the new boot over the handle and seat the boot collar in the the groove on the handle. Line up the long fingers with their retainers in the console then snap it down.

And, Voila!

Looks and feels SOOOO much nicer than the faux pleather of the original.

$40 well spent I do believe.

Got mine in. Helps to use a couple small clamps to hold parts together while you’re glueing. Let it dry about 15 hours before installing.

My son used to do a lot of leather work, and he used a ton of these binder clips to hold leather while gluing. Almost everybody has some of these laying around. They are strong and smooth on the clamping surfaces, and they come in various sizes to suit various jobs, and the are really CHEAP.

Just ordered my redline boot, but I'm going to make Ford replace the torn boot before I install my new leather. If I have to be out of pocket for the correct fix I need Ford to be out of pocket also.

I agree with the sentiments, But it’s not like anyone is going to buy it from you and not a single person will care up the line at all so its an interesting passive aggressiveness that’s completely pointless

It was just a cheap slip on cover off ebay. It is padded so that helps.
