I've seen a box for sale, outside the US, and I have even seen on FB where members have made their own box to fit in that little cubby under the rear passenger side seat. Question is, how does it sound and would it be better to go with a shallow sub/box behind the seat combo?

I'm not expecting a ton of bass with so little room(behind or under), but want to add just a little more. I have a sub and amp from my old truck I was going to use under the seat, but not if it's not worth it.

Ok so I got the Aussie Box. Holds a 10" Sub. Yes you have to change the amp etc.. I have pics of my build. But the box fit perfect. Really good sound. I have the Lariat and that system sucks. Good luck.

Under the seat it is, I already have a JL 10 and RF amp, but was going to sell it and just get a shallow sub package for behind or under the seats. Think I'll try the cubby box first. Thanks yall

There's a JL subwoofer on Crutchfield specifically for our Rangers that sells for like $1000. No amp included.

I put a little powered Kenwood under the driver seat. Made a big difference and it was cheap too.
Did you go with the 10 inch? I seen then used/refurbished on Amazon for cheap.

I wouldn't do it, waste of money and space. ? I know that's not the OP's opinion. And you're gonna piss off other drivers every time you stop at a red light.

If you're not looking to rattle the trim screws out of your interior panels, one of the powered under-seat subs will likely be plenty.

I have the Kenwood KSC-SW11 installed behind the rear seatback and it does a very nice job of filling in the lows.

Note that you will probably want to disable the fake engine noise if you install a sub.

On my truck, the fake engine noise seemed to take glee in harmonizing through the sub.

How do you disable it? I remember hearing about that. In my old Honda it was a module you unplugged.

8", the same one Dr. Zaius posted. Although when I bought it, it was $200.
Another member did a write up here.

For the fake engine noise it's disabled with Forscan. It's called “Software Engine Sound Enhancement” in there.
