I ended up building my own setup. Using 3/4” MDF as a top plate and using the factory storage bin. I used a retro seal for sealing MDF to plastic with screws holding it together. Sound deadening inside and out speaker output connector sealed as well. Kenwood Excelon 10” with a Rockford Fosgate 500x1. I have had this setup for a while in Kenwoods own downfire box, which wouldn’t work in this truck so made this setup. Sounds clean and crisp. No distortion and the Excelon is perfect candidate as it only requires .6cu ft. Sealed or ported (which this equates to it almost perfect by my math) this is just a representation of an option and more than likely not always the best option! And yes it does clear the seat frame.

I was thinking the same thing...why not use the existing box. What did you do to seal some of the holes in the plastic bin?

I used an automotive Butyl to help seal the 3/4 MDF to the plastic bin. The only other hole was for the speaker wire quick connect piece. That I cut the hole pretty tight for a solid fit and siliconed it going in. Then the dynamat all the way around the plastic.
