I have had this locker in my ‘21 Tremor since June ‘22 installed at https://maps.apple.com/?address=10855 Jericho Rd, Helotes, TX 78023, United States&auid=5573310113748515515&ll=29.596586,-98.706486&lsp=9902&q=Off-Road Ready
. It’s a solid locker after 2 years of use (abuse) in my experience. Off-Road Ready did an excellent job with the installation. Using my Tremors up fitter AUX3 (10A) switch to activate it. Works reliably every time. Don’t listen to the skeptics, they don’t know what they’re talking about.
You'll find that's the case of 99% of the internet. M190's don't break and the Eaton locker has proven itself for years in Australia. How is it driving a fully locked Ranger? Those duck drivers must get all upset as you drive past them on trails they get stuck on. Central Texas isn't accustomed to seeing Rangers on trails, let alone one fully locked.

I'm all for pushing the limits and I sincerely hope for the best outcome for you but it's worth understanding that the m190 in the ROW trucks is spec'd with a steel housing while the US spec Ranger received an alloy housing. This is the concern. We have all been looking at the ROW Rangers for years and wondering why we were short-changed on gears and lockers in the US, it's because of the difference in the housing.

Naturally, if you drive carefully and avoid shock-loading the system, it's not going to just blow up. But, if you're wheeling, especially with big tires, and well, you know how it goes, sh!t happens.

I'm on 35's and where I live we deal with transitioning from slick mud to granite rock that has tons of grip. It's sometimes hard to avoid going from wheel spin to instant full hookup. Boom goes hard parts...

YMMV and like I said, I hope you never have an issue just didn't want people to be confused thinking the ROW Ranger m190 is the same as the US spec Ranger m190.

There is not one single documented case in both Rangers and Broncos of anyone cracking the aluminum case of the M190 and those Bronco guys on 37+in tires absolutely abuse the living snot out of them way more than us Ranger dudes. You're just spreading fake news. Sorry boss, but I'm not drinking your kool-aid.

PS, the T6 Ranger M190 is aluminum.

Glad you are making the choice as I know it will make it great for OffRoad travel.

Those thinking it will break, yeah if you are smart and taking it slow when locked in the front and rear you will be just fine. The locker should only be on when going slow and on very low traction type terrain.

There has never been a single documented case of a M190 breaking, locked or stock and just in the USA there are over 375,151 currently driving on the roads just in Rangers, and another 257,745 in Broncos. People are just repeating the lie like mindless NPCs. That's over 600,000 M190 differentials currently being used. If it was "weak", you'd know.

Yeah, I have a 2012 Frontier and individuals are trying to to tell me I need to switch the front diff from the R180 to the R205 from a Titan/Armada if I want a front locker. I look at them and simply laugh. The only time I see the front diff break is if it's doing crazy spinning. Better yet I can get a front E Locker for the R180 and plan to in the future

Yeah. It's why I tend to stay off forums and groups. It's just a bunch of people that have no idea what they're talking about, repeating endless lies from the hivemind.

Who's driving fast on snotty mud locked that somehow transitions to slick rock with traction and you can't see that coming?

That sounds a little ?

I'm new to all this but I was told locker is for low and slow.

hmmm. its pricey. wonder about a lunchbox locker or aussie lokar etc. that just lock when slipping enough no electric switch?
Horrible on the front axle. We do not have manual locking hubs so in 2wd it would cause issues. Not to mention off road it will cause a lack of steering. Selectable locker for the front or true track is the way to go.

Bringing up a moldy oldie, but did you get this installed?

If so, how do you like it?

It's a front locker, it locks lol. Haven't had a good chance to really test it out yet but it's nice to have a real truck with full lockers now. I wish Ford would offer it on the FX4 and not just the Raptor, it's an OEM part from Eaton that drops right in. God forbid the Ranger threatens their Bronco sales.

I also retrofitted the truck with the OEM tow package and OEM brake controller since it didn't come from the factory with the tow package. When I got the truck in 2023 new, it was already on the lot and the dealer was running a special. 39k for a decked out XLT FX4 Splash edition. Couldn't say no. I didn't want lariat as leather in Texas is a hard pass. Next mod is the Tremor multi leaf springs. Even with Fox shocks it just isn't enough to tame the non stop shuttering with no weight in the bed since I removed the RTT.

In the past I've looked at lockers but didn't realize that Eaton made one, it's nice to have a few more options.

Out of curiosity, did you do the install for this locker or did you have a shop do it?

My local Ford dealership installed it.

Eaton makes most of the E Lockers for all sorts of Manufacturers that put it on at the Factory

Yep, the Eaton front e-locker is an OEM part, from what I was told by Ford it's the same locker that's on the Ranger Raptor. It's not a new item, it's actually been out for nearly 10 years in Australia, but it's "new" to the USA market.
