I mounted my ARB above the spare tire location. Will upgrade wheels and tires and the new spare won't fit anyway.

Anyone has some good quick-connect covers? I mounted mine next to the hitch and I am sure dust and dirt will get in there.

I don't have my truck yet but I was thinking about trying to find a hole between the frame somewhere. Maybe in front of the gas tank? Not sure if that's even practical. It would require custom brackets and splash shields of course.
Mounting a compressor under the bed? I’ve wondered about this myself. Is it even within the realm of possibility/practical? I would also want to add a quick connect on one or both sides in the middleish. To me this is a pretty cool idea

I wonder how it would hold up in weather...or God forbid, water crossing?

That’s the difficult part. Not only the electrisicals but the pneumatics need to be protected. Submersible would be ideal and it also needs to stay that way so that means protection against road debris and whatnot.

I dunno, I think it might. Our Land Rover LR3 has a compressor inside the frame rail under the truck for the air suspension. It’s enclosed in a plastic box. The ARB pumps might even fit in there (minus tank).

Hmmm. Plans are forming…

I forgot about vehicles that already have them for suspension and tires!! Some type of water tight enclosure could be the ticket as long as heat generated by the compressor isn’t a problem. If it were to be an actual thing to be done I’d want a quick connect on both sides under the bed not sure how to ensure that is water tight. I don’t take it off roading but occasionally have to drive through a partially flooded section of road so being water tight should be a requirement.

The bracket is 8"x3"x1/4" SS flat stock that I bent to fit the small relief in the core support. I used the bracket that the compressor was mounted to as a template to locate where to drill the holes in the SS plate.
I removed the wiring harness so it could be repositioned and so I would have enough length for the pressure transducer leads. I did not add any extra wiring, there was more than enough on the harness.
To re-clock the transducer and the air QC, I simply loosened the bolt at the end of the reservoir and clocked them where I wanted them. This was the easiest part.

I'm about to do the same although will probably just make a fully custom bracket with flanges instead of attaching the arb kit one. Does 1/4" feel right or overkill? I was thinking closer to 1/8" and maybe trying to find a 3rd spot to mount to the engine bay so there's no chance of the compressor slamming into the battery on bumps

I finally installed the ARB single in my Ranger.

Couldn’t come up with a better way to stick it in the engine bay, so I fabricated the same style of bracket as dmeyer302 did back in post #23

Fits well vertically, with a trimmed down wiring harness ran underneath it. Controlled by the Trigger 4, I can use the phone to turn it on/off, as well as the switch on the trigger itself. No need for an in-cab switch, since it’s not like I’ll be using it from the driver’s seat anyways.

Two 3-meter hoses aren’t cheap, but at least I won’t ever have to worry about melted or punctured lines. Besides. I didn’t need to run the whole length as a braided hose, but I didn’t know how I’d route it when I purchased the lines.

It’s convenient that the reinforcement behind the bumper only covers a portion of that area, makes it easy to drill a hole for the quick-connect fitting.

All-in-all, install was easy and the final result is both functional and discrete.

Did you wire the arb direct to the battery or the trigger controller?

Do you have any more information on how you wired the compressor to the truck? Did the bracket or the compressor come with instructions on how to do that? Thanks for sharing!
I don't remember the Bracket coming with the wiring instructions. I made a custom harness for the compressor however it would be fairly easy to wire it. You would run the wiring down through the door jams and out through the firewall just above and to the left of the brake pedal. The only thing that needs to be run out there is the positive and the negatives. However if you do get the arb harness I suggest cutting the fuses out from near the compressor and getting them as close to the battery as you can. Its much safer having your fuses as close to the battery as possible.
