older working versions of fordpass app?

i have an older phone with android 8 and am unable to update it to newer android versions. i had the fordpass app installed and working on it for almost 2 years since i purchased the truck. recently the app quit working so i uninstalled it, and when i went to google play store to reinstall, it said the app was not compatible with my device. i had this issue with a couple other apps i frequently use, and found older versions of them at uptodown.com that worked when installed, but the older versions of fordpass on this site will download and install on my phone but wont function properly. any ideas? i dont use the app much, so i am not going to purchase a new phone just to have this app. TIA

I read somewhere (maybe here?) that older versions of FordPass would not work due to underlying changes they made. I think you are out of luck unfortunately.

This was the first time the most recent IOS update forced you to update the FordPass app. If you tried opening the app it wouldn't allow you access to anything and forced you do the newest update.

its weird because fords website says the app is compatible with my phone. its on the internet so it must be true.......
