what size are these ? screw pins
Sponsored
Those are the shittiest fasteners ever invented...using a screw driver that necessarily applies pressure while it needs to be backing out while unscrewing...motions working against each other...crap...what size are these ? screw pins
What I use as well...https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FV5ZJL3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They are not the screw head type, but they are easier to work with and one of them should fit. And you'll have spares.
The problem is rotating the philips head does nothing to back it out...it just spins more often than not...I've done four oil changes on our Ranger, and not had any issues with this fasteners.. yet.
FWIW: This is what I do:

Yep, I had that happen.... Then I inserted the flat screwdriver, between the button head and the panel... when you twist the screwdriver it attempts to lift the button head, which puts inward pressure on the wings, which push inward against the screw, and allows the screw to unthread. The problem is rotating the philips head does nothing to back it out...it just spins more often than not...
I ended up replacing them ?Yep, I had that happen.... Then I inserted the flat screwdriver, when twisted it attempts to lift the button head, which puts inward pressure on the screw and allows the screw to unthread.
Well, that's how it's worked for me anyways.
But now you don't have a numbers matching truck!I ended up replacing them ?
does any of us really ........But now you don't have a numbers matching truck!
I'll go out on a limb here and say there are probably less than 10 forum members who haven't made absolutely any changes, including unwrapping glove box manuals...As long as you aren't worried about a concours show, there are some alternatives in this thread
