Update 7/16

Picked it up today, confirmed by the transmission Jedi, it needs a replacement ? covered under warranty. Parts being ordered. They're backlogged by a good bit so they're releasing the Yeti back to me since it's still drivable.

They're going to ring me when they've got everything ready and the queue is ready for me and should be about a 3 day surgery for the new unit.

Crazy, might be a record on this board, no? Can anyone beat 3655mi for a new 10r80?

Rich
They all probably qualified for replacement a day after delivery ?

Thats crazy low mileage, especially since you should have the new cdf drum. My 2023 has a build date a couple of months before yours and I'm at 20k no issues. Super unlucky! Hopefully they get you back on the road soon.

It will be interesting to hear what their exact findings were. Hopefully they note it in the repair order. My guess is a valve body.

It's home for now awaiting its turn in the queue.

I think you're correct. They sent me some video the tech made and he said it was failing 'electronically' and due to the time in service he wasn't allowed to fix or change out just the electronics, so they were ordering an entire new Trans

Is anything on these electronic besides the valve bodies? That's kinda the electrical brain of the trans, no?

Crazy part is since they released it back while we're waiting on parts and my turn in the repair queue it still driving pretty well. I only notice that awful whine from what I'm told is the torque converter if it's under heavy acceleration and load. Like we're building speed uphill or something.

Sheesh

True, the transmissions are "made" in the USA but where are the bits that go into them made? Someone in an Australian 4x4 forum recently said, (in response to someone putting sh*t on someone buying a Chinese ute) - there are several selling in Australia now and a couple are now into their second or third generation- so they can't be that bad.
What's the difference between buying a "cheap" Chinese ute and buying a "name" brand ute built in Thailand using mostly parts sourced cheaply from China.

It's also an interesting exercise in dealer markup, in the difference in price for cheap Chinese parts for said utes, sourced from a local dealer, vs the exact same part direct from the Chinese OEM via AliExpress.

Hmmm for sure when you described it as a whirl under load I thought turbo like mine. My little bugger is noisy as hell. Like under load sounds like a diesel turbo. But it never stopped going so I never thought anything of it.

The slight wine noise is - Normal
This is the slight noise you can hear under light throttle from a stop, you can barely hear it, but it is there.
Anything more than this - is a concern

Can't hear it at all in park, has to be in drive, and under acceleration and load. Mine is more of a grind/whine not sure what to call it but I know how to describe it.

Picture the noise a bearing makes that isn't properly lubricated...

That.

Apparently it's coming from my trans. Crazy part is if I ease off the throttle a touch it'll usually stop.

Either way getting swapped ??‍♂

Gotta pull my Fitzstick off.

Did they tell you to pull it off? My transmission was swapped and they put the Fitzstick back on. They did charge me $100 to do it though,
