Give it time.
But good news its probably not the cause of your issue.
Somethings up. Vehicles don't just start making new noise because they're starting a band. I'm hoping I can get somebody in the truck with me at drop off and show it to them (hope springs eternal) so I don't just get some bozo before lunch saying he doesn't hear anything.

Then I'm 5hrs from home when the rear diff grenades or something

If the issue is still intermittent or only under certain situations, I would ask the advisor to go on a ride with you or even better the foreman so they at least know the noise you are talking about. Getting a foreman to ride along is not always easy depending on the dealer. No reason the advisor can't hop in though.

Try your best to find a way to duplicate the issue reliably which will make everyone's life easier (yours and theirs). Kind of sounds like you are getting there with the noise.

Hey at least it is under warranty still.

Absolutely going to try to get somebody to go for a drive with me so I can demonstrate it. All it seems to take is about three times accelerating up to about 60mph or so and it'll start squealing, whistling, whatever the noise is to be called.

I can reproduce it pretty much on command in about 3-5 minutes of driving.

Agreed. Hopefully you can get it pinned down. That's alot of money in a truck, dont need early onset of problems.

Curious what year was your Ranger and miles, mine has a slight bit of movement but nothing like your vid show and I have the ‘hum’ on de cell only, that's crazy and they said that was normal??
Twas a '22. I noticed the movement early on, traded 16k with more noticable takeoff shuddering.

Here's my experience. 2023 Lariat crew 4WD.
Odd noise out of nowhere around 12,000 km.
Dealer first changed the driveshaft, not it.
Second time in the rear diff plug was covered in shrapnel, including a spring! New diff was totally different, including more bolts on the cover. They figured maybe they upgraded, due to previous issues. My noise was present when I let off, not on acceleration but at any speed.
Good luck

It did. Quiet ever since. They admit the driveshaft was an educated guess. The differential was obvious second time through their inspection.

I should be clear, I could hear the noise coming from the rear, somewhere. It was subtle, not alarming but obviously new and indicating something amiss. I called in right away but drove it for a few days, with no change. The service guy said it did get louder while they had it. (3-4 days).

Same, it's not alarming loud but it's new and I don't like it. Maybe it's the same maybe not. Dropping off tomorrow morning.

My aggravation level hasn't abated much.

I get it. I now have a noisy fan on high and spongy brakes. The first 11 months were great! I really like everything about the truck. Trying to ride out these issues without losing it.

I heard a new noise today as well. It only happens at extremely slow speed, like taking off from a dead stop and "accelerating" with no throttle, only idle speed. My first thought about the sound was the parking brake might be stuck slightly engaged. Kind of scraping with occasional light clunk sound. However, it probably wouldn't be accelerating without throttle if that were the case. Plus I pulled and released and reversed multiple times with no change. Tried to have the wife idle past me while I was outside to listen. Of course I couldn't hear anything. Sounds like its coming from the back of the truck when you are inside. Crawled under and found nothing suspicious outside of a small amount of oil stain around the rear diff fill plug (I just changed the fluid 3000 miles ago). Going to inspect the rear brake pads and rear diff fluid level when I can. I'm out camping now with very limited tools.

We just went camping last week

3600mi and change on this truck, I've been babying the hell out of it.

Just yesterday started getting some kind of noise on acceleration coming from what I assume is the drive line.

It's not speed related, but does seem to be induced under load, highway on ramp, pulling out into traffic and getting up to speed, those sort of scenarios.

I wouldn't describe it as grinding, or whistling, something between... whirring? Sounds like something spinning that's not happy. I know everyone is normally worried about the trans on these but it's shifting just fine, zero issues there.

In all honesty, it's performing fine... but there's noise there that wasn't before, something's up. So to the freakin' dealer we go ? at 3600mi

Fuckin ridiculous.
Is it not a warranty situation? Go raise Caine.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't. Just dropped her off. Apparently they've got two 'guys' that diagnose stuff. My first trip to a Ford Service place.

A drivability guy that sounds like a general service specialist. Seems like he looks at all kinds of stuff from tires, wheels, fluids, etc. to try and find what's going on. Apparently he's running anywhere from a day to two on fixes if he recognizes and fixes it. That would be awesome ? ?

If he doesn't find it or finds it but it's something specialized like the trans or it's a differential that's tearing itself up and needs to be rebuilt there's some specialist dude that does that. Sounds like there's only one ? Hire more man, that dude must be making bank. He's running more like 3 weeks ????

Here's hoping for an easy fix ?

Of course they were too busy despite my pushing for a drive with a tech or advisor. I gave them copious notes on how to induce it. I also said I'm on vacation this week so if drivability man couldn't find it, call me and I'll stop by and show them ?
