Hey all,

Just looking to see if anybody has had this issue before and what you did with it:

Today I got into my truck and put it in reverse and when I let my foot off the brake, nothing happened on level paved ground. So, I gave it a little gas and the truck reved up and started moving a little bit, but not nearly as much as it should have considering the revs, and as it backed up, it's like it became less and less engaged, needing more revs just to keep moving very slowly. I put it in park, tried again, and got the same thing. I put it in drive, went forward a bit, shifted back to reverse, and then it was fine. Didn't happen again when i was in a parking lot a bit later.

There were no grinding sounds or anything like that.

Temp was -4C outside and it was put in reverse about a minute after start. Never have any transmission problems that most people talk about.

2019 Lariat FX4. Stock

Thanks for any help

How long have you had it? I wonder if it's just a little low on trans fluid. And seeing how it's so cold, might just be showing up now.

Had it since September 2023. Did the tranny fluid that same october at the dealership. Didn't have any issue last winter.

That is exactly what low fluid level will do.

Hey James, it really wasn’t that cold - he’s in Toronto, so -4°C ~ 24°F. Practically t-shirt weather here.

OP - it shouldn’t be doing what it’s doing, of course. I’d be concerned too. ?
