When I had my RC 2.5" level in there was roughly 3/8" of rake still. You want some rake in case you load up the bed (even if it's only once in a while) so you're not looking like this.

But that's the latest rage, all the 'cool kids' are doing it. Glad I'm not a kid anymore.

So your truck will never see a load? Why do you have a truck?
He never said that it would not EVER have a load. Personally I'd rather put up with a bit of squat on the days I have the truck loaded than be seen with a rake EVERY other time.

Wait , why am I here ????

There are plenty of things that are best hauled in a pickup bed that would not cause any squat.

Camping gear, dirty tools, bikes, etc..

Just seems awful vain to quibble over a half inch of being exactly level.

I'm out of here.

I never said never. For the occasional trips to the dump with brush. For a weekly haul of nasty kitchen trash. For the occasional trailering my Harley for new tires. For the occasional trailering my zero turm lawn mower. For the occasional hauling of firewood. For easy access to my biking, running gear. For hauling a bike. For the occasional hauling of something large my wife bought. For tailgating at football games. For hauling kayaks to the river. For hauling tubes and cooler to the river.
Ok. I think I made my point. Trucks don't need to be always hauling a load to be useful. And therefore you don't always need much rake.

Jeff, for what it’s worth, I have the Rough Country 2.5 leveling kit. When I have weight on the bed, like the camper shell and camping stuff, I still don’t see any squatting.

I think to be " level " one would also have to adress the "Ranger lean " ?
Thats why the tote full of gear that lives in the bed, that helps mitigate the rake, also sits on the passenger side of the truck! ;)
